I mad J.U.L.I.A.N reach his dream! I loved the minigames in between more than actual fight. The narrative was nice and the money and reputation system can go a long way if you spend more time developing. I got tricked in the beginning and missed a few punches to the punchbags because WASD worked on UI but not in minigames :D

I really like the idea to use arrows for everything it makes it quite minimalist!
The animations & the character design are fun!

For feedback:
- The hitbox of the "notes" minigame is not very clear at first, maybe instead of a blue line you could make a rectangle shape so the player know when to click
- For the combat I just spammed attack and it worked, maybe some balancing to force the player to dodge a bit ^^

Developer

Thank you for the feedback SydialGames! It was our first time doing a project like this ever and even tho it was really fun to make, we really do appreciate any feedback we can get to improve and make our future projects better. Thanks again for passing by!

cool minigames/narrative with unique blend of art styles. feels like PS1 and NES had a baby.

Developer(+1)

Thats the feeling I was getting! Glad you we're able to feel that too! Thanks for trying out our game Toxudio!

Decent story game. Gameplay-wise, it's quite good. Though, the art could do with a bit more polish, the pixel size is inconsistent. Also, why is the reps required so much spamming, my arms hurt... 😅

Developer(+1)

Thanks for trying out our game PiCode! It was my first time really trying to do pixel art so it really helps that you could notice the inconsistence of the sizes. Will def keep that in mind for our next project!

I really like the story and the characters! Maybe the game could be a bit easier on the mashing?

Developer

Thanks for trying out our game GreatDragonGamer! You can kinda go slow at the beginning of each rep and just mash at the very top, its a bit more slower but it def helps a lot!

Thanks for taking your time playing our entry! Yeah, it seems we went a little too far with that barbell. We will give Julian a lighter bar so that he doesn't get hurt.

I love this take on the prompt! You guys did awesome in using the mini-games to progress the narrative. And the reputation system and narrative behind it all gave it a ton of depth. It was super fun!
