This is so well made!
The art is perfect, really nailed the cardboard cutout look, I would say the audio was good but there was too much booing, I assume this was a bug because I played perfectly... yes, definitely bug.
The progression felt a little shortened, but that probably makes sense for a jam so you can play with all the toys quickly.
Charming, well executed entry, great job!
Yes! We have made mistakes in past jams by locking content in a 'realistic' situation, it always feels better to make the game too easy than too hard, especially something like this :)
The booing bug is weird, I think we should make a version just for you with some audio files flipped, should fix it ;)
Thank you so much for the nice words! They are so motivating for us :)
I love the cardboard cutout art and voiceover/music! Very whimsical toy-like vibe.
Overall the technical side seemed very good as well, the lighting was very professional and clean (which makes sense given that's your whole job in the game!!). I did find it a bit confusing at first when one of my lights was completely off, I didn't fully understand what was being explained in the tutorial until I re-listened haha. Maybe a small diagetic tooltip somewhere on the console could help? Like a little switch that says dimmer with the left and right mouse? I also think scrollwheel would feel more intuitive for the dimmer.
But regardless, very clean and clever game. Congrats on your first 3d game!
Thanks for playing and the great feedback! Tooltips are a great idea! We have been talking a lot on a better tutorial, but people will probably still forget, so tooltips could be a nice touch!
Scrollwheel is also a fire idea, maybe we can just do both for people that don't have a scrollwheel (rise up macbook trackpad warriors).
Regardless, lovely feedback from the pizza warrior himself!
great game, although it feels like there's too little downside to just keeping random parts of the map lit up.
Thank you for playing!! Lighting up spots without an actor makes you lose money every second, but we didn't mention that clear enough haha. Thx for the feedback!
The artwork is great and the voiceover is amazing. The game looks very polished!
A more "explain it to me like I'm a child" style of tutorial would be helpful. I didn't really understand what changing the energy level actually did. I was only focused on making the spotlight as bright as possible to light up the actors…
and then suddenly there were two actors at the same time :O
Overall, it's a great Game Jam entry. Very well done!
Thanks for playing and the nice words!!
Tutorials in gamejams have always been our weakpoint! We focus so hard on making something unique that we get lost in the sauce untill we have no time :p But it's nice to see the game looks engaging enough that people push through! Nice job finishing it!
Game look nice, but unfortunately game didnt work for me, i couldnt turn the light on
Aw, that's a bummer! Apparently some people's browsers and graphics card combination don't really support the dynamic lighting. Trying a different browser could help. But thanks for trying out the game!
Very charming and unique concept for a game. The ringmaster really put on a show and has an amazing voice!
Thank you so much! Ministrelli is famous among the lands for his amazing vocals!
Very cool entry! The game looks amazing and the gameplay is solid :)
A lot of content for so little time!
My only critique is that the fact that i had to keep presing a number for moving the corresponding light was not clear at all in the game, almoast skipped it because of it!
But, i am glad i did not :)
Thank you so much! Our tutorial skills need a lot of work, but we're so happy to see people like you push through and play it :D
Glad you enjoyed!
Unfortunately the game did not work for me. Like others the consol did not light up, and whatever I tried I could not get any lights to work. Only move a red one, not get things to light up. I'm frustrated that many others don't seem to have that issue, because I would love to play the game they are describing.
Oh darn, let us help!
Have you tried moving the mouse and clicking the left mouse button while holding the 1(&|) key?
There is one small bug that causes the tutorial to bug out when people tab out of the game during the voiced tutorial, so don't do that.
We hope this helps!
Thx for the video!! Due to your video I can see that the audience lights buttons and spotlight don't work but the baked(non dynamic global light) does show shadows. So it looks like your browser + graphics hardware are having trouble with the realtime/dynamic lighting. Sadly that's the whole concept of the game haha. The only thing I can suggest is try a different browser as they use different webgl renderers. But thanks already for the effort!
Very cool and polished for just 96 hours! I like the idea :)
cool game
Cool comment, thanks!
Daaaamn this is fun and polished!
Very inventive concept, loved the visuals and gameplay.
Weel done!!
Thank you so much for this comment and playing our game! So glad you enjoyed it :)
the man talked to me and (i think) explained what to do in the game, but there was no dialogue text so it was hard to remember what to do, i really didn't know what to do in the game. also, my buttons were all blacked out so i thought i couldnt press them, so i just waited for a long time for something to happen and nothing happened until i just clicked every where and i happened to press the button.
the game honestly looks really good and fun and i love the visuals, but I think the tutorial needs more polishing or just need to add dialogue text.
Yea, it's on us for the tutorial! When you hold 1,2,3 or 4, you hold a light, corresponding to a spot. If you press the left mousebutton while holding, the light goes on, and if you press the right one, it goes out. If you let go, you can controll the buttons on the console.
We had so many voicelines recorded to guide the player and subtitles prepar, but time gave us a beating in the end! The post game-jam version will fix all these issues :)
Thank you for playing our game though :)
This was a very fun game. You honestly have the best tutorial of any game I’ve played this Game Jam. I think it was very smart to get a voice actor for the tutorial. An issue I have with many tutorials (including my own) is that they are rather bland and I stop paying attention. But your tutorial gripped me and I was able to learn the game very easily.
The rest of the game was awesome! It was especially fun once I got multiple lights, it started getting a bit chaotic in a good way. Theres a lot of potential here, I’d love to see a bigger game where you manage more aspects of the stage, not just the lighting.
I did run into one bug that I couldn’t reproduce: The first time I booted the game, the tutorial froze. The voice stopped talking and I couldn’t do anything aside from moving the hand. I am not sure what happened there but refreshing fixed it.
Very good job!
You are the first person that said our tutorial was good! And about hiring a voice actor.. What if one of the devs (my good friend Priem), showed us he's an even better voiceactor than he is an artist!
We will keep working on this, and maybe release it in the near future, in a bigger form, or this game but more polished (buttons that light up, better player feedback, better balancing...)
So happy you enjoyed playing!
And thanks for reporting the bug, good to know ;)
Loved the vibe of this one — incredible work for your first 3D game in a short timeframe! The audience failed to appreciate my genius operation
Haha well, every light operator has to have it's first gig. Thanks for playing!
I got a total of $927, I did buy every single upgrade. It's pretty overwhelming if you try to make use of all the different lights, sound effects and stuff, but it's also a lot of fun to try. For some reason the lights don't seem to work in firefox web builds, on chrome it works fine. Art stile and audio were amazing. Great game!
That's a pretty high score buying everything! Firefox is a thorn, but no for everyone so it's very strange. Thanks for playing till the end and the lovely feedback :)
this is such a happy charming game, i love the incorporation of multiple spotlights and the final act, standing ovation i love that little mustached man
Thank you so much for the nice words! Ministrelli is a gem, we know ;)
This was a perfect 5* for me across the board. I played this longer than any game submission so far. The character designs are so amazing, the gameplay is fun. I kept playing trying to figure out how the soundboard worked. But despite me not quite getting it at first, I was really motivated to learn because the whole experience was just enjoyable, and really fun to play.
It’s soo soso good. One of the best games I’ve played so far!
These are such kind words!! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to take your time playing the game <3
Really polished game, very chaotic and fun as well. The music and design was amazing, and I absolutley loved the voice acting. The whole presentation was amazing!
Awesome! So glad you loved playing our game :)
Really fun and original! The presentation is fantastic—the art, voice acting, and audio all feel super polished. The controls took a little while to click, but once they did, juggling everything became a really satisfying challenge. Great job!
Thanks for playing!! The controls are weird, but we are confident that it's the ideal way to play a game like this, it took a lot of versions to find something that feels good and doable :)
I was really getting into it, my favorite art design and presentation so far and was racking up money finally, cool idea. Only thing I am stuck buying four lights but couldn't figure out how to turn them all on? anyway still a terrific game and would play again.
Playing again and now I get it :)
Thank you for playing!
Thank you for playing! Glad you figured it out, and that our game is engaging enough for you to put in the effort! Means a lot :)
