I really enjoyed this game and its liminal space aesthetic! The ducks are cute, but they also have a slightly spooky feeling in that environment, especially when they suddenly jump at you. I really liked the atmosphere and the unique mix of cute and creepy. Great job!

We would also love to hear your feedback on our game! :)

Submitted

Honestly, I'm really digging the bunnyhopping in this game :)

Developer

Thank you! The player physics was heavily inspired by the physics in a microspeedrunning game I'm working on (hopefully releasing sometime within the next 2 years or so).

Submitted

The animation of the ducks jumping at your head is very funny and cute, big fan. As a heads up I did run into a lot of lag every time I shot a duck, but still very cool game!

Developer

Thank you! ...Every time? I didn't realize it was that bad.... If I may ask a few questions, which build did you play (Windows, Linux, Web)? What's your system's RAM and clock speed?

Submitted

Web build for me, with 16 GB of RAM and 3.70 GHz clock speed. And no worries lol, I know the pain of optimizing 3D games for web builds, it be like that sometimes

Developer

My PC is worse than that, so I'll play around with the web build a bit. Thank you so much for your bug report!

Submitted

really fun! I enjoyed the level design a lot. Definitely consider adding music and some sound effects if you decide to expand this further, it would make the experience even better!

Developer

Thank you! I'm fairly new to Godot, so I still haven't figured out the audio system. After some post-jam miscellaneous bug-fixes, I'll probably abandon this project, but I'll be sure to include music and SFX in my next game (if I have the time).

I felt bad shooting those adorable little ducks... right until they jumped up and mauled me in the face!
Nice work.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I see you made another duck-themed game. Great minds think alike!

Submitted

as soon as i understood you can bunnyhop through the levels it was really really fun. nice aim trainer and nice interduction and pacing of the levels. good good!

Developer

Thank you! I really wanted bunnyhopping and air-strafing to be a key mechanic, so I did my best to make them as fun and fast as possible without completely breaking everything.

Submitted

A very well desinged polished game! The ducks were really out for me :) also, the levels are very interesting and uniquie from eachother. The ducks were very bouncy and it was to my liking!! Keep up the good work my friend and if you want to see a game that almost matches your game's level, be sure to check out and rate out my game too! The hustle is noticable in both games!

Sorry, my evil brothers.... but it had to be done. 🦆🦆😂

Submitted

You went for Down for the Count too! I fear the killer ducklings!

Submitted

Fun little game!! I really apretiate the b-hop implementation it was really fun jumping around as fast as I could seraching for ducks xDD great job

Developer

Thank you! Did you figure out the air-strafing implementation too? With good movement in the fourth and fifth levels, it's possible to reach speeds upwards of 170.

Submitted

The duck is so cute, why do I have to kill it 😭

By the way, for some reason I couldn't hear any sound while playing — is that expected?

Developer

Thank you! I still haven't figured out how to get audio working in Godot, so I just left it out.

Hilarious concept. Using ducks was the right call, even if I can't bring myself to murder those cuties. <3

Submitted

The last level feels impossible, but the others were fun

Developer

The last level (level 5) is in fact possible... with 5 seconds to spare, assuming near-perfect movement. That is an intended feature.

Submitted(+1)

oh I see. I personally don't have anywhere near enough skill to beat it, the closest I can get is 5 ducks left lol

Submitted

Love the concept! Super cute theme, fun execution. Little guys jump scared me a couple times, and that last level is a doozy!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks! The last level is supposed to be as difficult as possible, while still being possible with excellent movement and routing. How close did you get to beating level 5?

Submitted

I managed to clear them all once but ran out of time to make it back to the exit! Feels like it could be doable with perfect execution.

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you managed to find them all. Level 5 is possible with 5 seconds to spare, assuming you have near-perfect air-strafing.

Cool game! Poor little duckling, haha!

The duckies are cute

Thanks, although I didn't make it. I just downloaded the model from https://poly.pizza/m/gt2eYOyOvU.

Bug: In the second level I was only able to move my aim while holding down MOUSE1. Nice submission. I love ducks so i felt hesitant to hurt the poor boys 😭

Developer

Thank you for the bug report. I can't seem to replicate it, though. Would it be possible to tell me what build you used, as well as steps to replicate it (if you can find a way to consistently pull it off)?

Submitted(+2)

I found the ducklings to be most friendly, to be frank. I won't stand for this "killer" slander.
