As much as I like micromanaging a bunch of intertwining parts, I haven't played too many games like this one. That said, I think I like the ideas you've got here - the synergies at play are fun to try and play around & I really like being hit with the "upgrades" gimmick halfway through the game, I think having too many mechanics thrown in at once can boggle the mind a bit too much, rather than being forced to adapt on the fly.
I think this game is just missing a few QoL perks. Stuff like being able to click tiles to check their actions when I'm using "Show Board", or just having a list of abilities available. It'd be much easier to prepare the board for the lich when I know what he's gonna do.
QoL aside, this game is good strategic fun.
