such a clever game
Amazing game! One of my favorites. Love the art, nice music, amazing puzzles, awesome job!
Excellent game, I love this type of puzzle game! Reminds me of the turtle program from back at school. I managed the first three levels with a little trial and error, but I'll be coming back to finish off the last two levels - they won't get the better of me!
Others have mentioned about a reset button as a quality of life feature, which I definitely would put a vote on. None of that really detracts from an otherwise great game though!
The game is so well-polished for a 4-day jam. But what sets it apart for me is the clever puzzle design. Puzzle games are usually not my favorite, but this one rewards thinking outside the box. Each one of the levels teach you their own thing. I must say that I don't yet know what level 4 and 5 have to teach :D
That was bloody difficult! Even the first level I found challenging since I wasn't used to the mechanics. But I enjoy this type of game and it was a good challenge.
If you decide to make updates some nice quality of life would be being able to do a select box and drag multiple instructions at once, delete them etc. A clear all instructions button would also be nice.
Yeah agreed, I wanted to get a selection box and multi-command dragging etc working but ran out of time. Thanks for the comment!
Really great game! I love these kind of programming games, and I love the mechanics!
There was one thing where, when gravity pulls a connected block down at the same time as you're pulling the top block to the right, the bottom block goes on a diagonal instead of straight down. I don't know if that's intended, but it felt a bit unintuitive.
Other than that, great game! Well done!
Good feedback! I did intentionally make gravity and hand movement operate simultaneously using the same steps, but I can see how that would create some confusing behaviour when something disconnects, so I might change that.
Interesting idea with a simple gameplay loop. Great game execution!
This is one of my favorite puzzle games I've seen in any jam, let alone one that's only 4 days long. This game is extremely polished. You've got excellent art, snappy sounds, appropriate screen shake. One of the solutions had me dropping a piece and letting gravity solve it and the sound effect for a piece dropping into place was so satisfying I had to keep replaying it. The preview and being able to slide to different turns of your solution is really incredible and got rid of any tedium in trying new solutions. Puzzle games are really hard to do on a jam timeline because tuning the difficulty is really tough, but you did it while making a super polished game.
My only piece of criticism is I don't think it's obvious enough that you can move the arms multiple blocks per turn. Once I realized that the game was much easier, but I spent quite a bit of time moving only one block per turn and it took me all ten turns to beat the first puzzle. The second puzzle seemed impossible until I figured it out.
Amazing job I can't wait to see more from you!
Really appreciate this comment! And yeah, good feedback about making the number of moves more obvious.
I really like the puzzles! I couldn't even solve level 5 after like 20 minutes lol... but I had a great time! Level 4 felt especially rewarding to finally figure out.
Thanks! You should feel proud about solving level 4, as far as I know only one other person has solved it.
Probably my favourite submission on the jam, really well made and unique
I love a good zachtronics game. Didn't realize at first that a hand can move multiple tiles in a turn.
This is so polished, great job! I absolutely love the ability to preview the program and to get the warnings before having to commit, it made solving the puzzles that much more enjoyable.
The puzzles are tight, and #5 is a real head scratcher.
I definitely hope you will expand on this post-jam, there's so much further potential
Very cool idea, and loving your pixel art work!! Big fan of these kinds of "coding" games :)
it's a countdown to the instruction ! Genius.
it's a really fun idea, well done !
really interesting interpretation of the theme. It's a really nice game as well, the puzzles are a bit difficult but still very fun to figure out regardless.
It looks very nice as well, the UI, the actual rocket art and the animations - they all look really nice.
The puzzles are designed well, even if a bit too difficult for mush brain of mine.
overall a really nicely polished puzzle game.
Lovely game! Really enjoyed the first 2 levels, but it took me a while to complete them (probably because my brain is cooked from making my own game). Despite that, really nice puzzle game.
I’m not sure if it’s the web build, but I didn’t actually hear any sfx along with the music. Your credits mention them, so I assume they are there.
My skill issue aside, the game is solid fun. It is a good puzzle game, and I played it for far longer than I realised. I would pay money for a full version of this.
Fun and clever puzzles! Only criticism is that I wish there were a way to clear all commands, but the game was fun nonetheless
One of my favorite games from the jam. Very well polished controls. The only thing I would complain about would be the lack of a "clean all commands" button because I kept wanting to start from scratch. :D
Oh yeah I meant to add that but I forgot! Thanks for reminding me, glad you enjoyed it.
The fact that I spent 10+ minutes on the 4th level before realizing I needed to try other games means you did a great job. I’m a sucker for “programming” games like this, and it was even better when I realized I could scrub the timeline to debug. Great Work
