Cute little game! Lacking an end goal but that's understandable
Pretty good for such a short time! What would the team have added next if you had more time?
Firstly more polish secondly ui improvements and thirdly maybe more dialogue
I think its hard to give a fair review when games are made for 3 day game jams, let alone 5 hours, so take what I write with a grain of salt. The best parts of the game are the art and the audio, and the worst is the gameplay.
- I think this game could be played a lot better with the mouse, it was a weird decision to use ESC or TAB for things that conventionally would be just done with buttons you can click with your mouse, since they aren't conventional controls I had to read and activelly remind myself of the keys I should press, for a gamejam game that counts a lot, so try using conventional controls when possible.
- You could have the needs of each person be shown as just icons for food and water and the amount they need, with just one button to give them those resources. It'd be easier to understand and take less time and friction.
Firstly Thanks Secondly the main reason for not using mouse was to allow the player to keep their hands on their keyboard without needing a mouse (Also allows lots of laptop user to play the game without a barrier ) and i wanted to do something more complex but i just didnt have icons or anything and main reason to not do it was that i want the player reading and not just feeding them (i know the game failed at that but still ) also i kinda just didnt have time
But read what exactly? The only relevant information is what each passenger wants/needs and the reward, everything else is just cluttering the actual important information. Another thing is that you could have their UI appear automatically when next to them, there's no reason to press a button to talk to them and to stop talking to them.
thats mostly on me and i did plan on write a story and stuff but u know i messed up and ui cant just be popping if i have story right
Super cool game but i miss a indicator for the food and whater soo... : )
And it is to much stress fo me : / (i dont want to make the train guys sad LMAO)
didnt have time :( and thanks
Fun game! It's simple, but it keeps the pressure on - I never had a moment where I felt like I could sit back and relax. I would have liked to have an indication of when I lost, or perhaps a score, since this seems to be arcade-y in nature... but this is still super cool for just 5 hours!
thx and ya i was planning on adding a indicator but only 30 min were left :((
Unique game, and well done getting in done in just a few hours!
Gameplay did tire out after a lil but a nice idea, and the art was nice - good job :)
thx :3
