Hey man!
This game makes me a little nervous. I like your idea, try to keep the light in hand and run as fast as possible.
Uhm... And I really thought that something would chase me in the dark behind.
What do you think about adding more creepy sounds when the MC runs too long in the dark?!
The art style is cute too... Cute and creepy <3

Developer

Heyy, thanks a lot! I’m really glad you liked the idea and the mix of cute + creepy vibes that’s exactly what I was going for. I love your suggestion about adding more creepy sounds when running too long in the dark, that could definitely build tension and make it feel like something is chasing you. I’ll keep that in mind as I keep refining the atmosphere. Really appreciate you sharing your thoughts!

Thank you so much!

I really enjoy the visual aesthetic of this game and music, but I do think the camera needs to be panned out quite a bit more so I can see more of the screen, and so the camera doesn't move as erratic when you jump. I mean, that might just be me, but I can't look at this for long before getting a little nauseated. Ideally, imo, the camera doesn't move vertically at all when you jump (unless it needs to follow the player outside the screen), it's much easier on the eyes. The jump and run do otherwise feel good to control, though.

Great game idea, was quite enjoyable though i did run into some bugs like game music stopping, moving while dead and there seems to be some sort of delay between the press of the jump and it actually happening. nonetheless i enjoyed the game, thumbs up from me

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much for playing and for the kind words, I’m really glad you enjoyed the idea! I appreciate you pointing out the bugs too: the music stopping, being able to move while dead, and the jump delay. I’ll look into fixing those so the gameplay feels smoother

I really love the atmosphere and the simplicity of the game mechanics! The mechanics reminds me of a reverse stealth game which is fun. Enjoyed playing this in the dark in real life, really added to the immersion ദ്ദി( • ᴗ < )

A really interesting idea combining searching with a timer! Great work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I’m really glad you enjoyed the idea and atmosphere, combining the searching mechanic with a timer was something I wanted to experiment with

Reminded me of Alan Wake! Really creative idea! I just feel that the gameplay makes you think a little about where you are and where to go, and ends up pushing for YOLO behavior. Would be interesting to see a more strategic gameplay approach!

Developer

Thanks so much! I’m really glad the atmosphere and creative idea came through,  Alan Wake vibes is such a cool comparison. I hear you on the gameplay leaning toward YOLO behavior, I’ll definitely explore ways to make progression feel more strategic and give players more room to plan their moves

Cool idea, very atmospheric! Some of the hazards are a bit hidden, I often wasn't sure exactly what I died from.

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for playing and for the kind words about the atmosphere, I’m really glad that came through! I hear you on the hazards being a bit hidden; I’ll work on making them clearer so it’s easier to tell what caused a death. Feedback like this really helps me balance the visuals with the gameplay, so I appreciate you pointing it out

This game did very well with the artwork and atmosphere, but I feel like it got in the way to the gameplay. There were a lot of blind jumps that felt "unfair" because the player doesn't have enough time to react. Good job on the visuals though!

Developer

Thanks so much for the feedback! I’m really glad you enjoyed the artwork and atmosphere that was a big focus for me. I hear you on the blind jumps feeling unfair; I’ll work on adjusting the level design so players have more time to react and the gameplay feels smoother. Your input helps me balance the visuals with the playability, so I really appreciate you pointing that out!

love the visuals for such a limited palette it is very charming. The overall vibe is donc perfectly, it feels very claustrophobic. The music is also very very good

A few issues:
The music doesn't loop

The level design becomes extremelly chaotic between the second and third flag

There is a lot of blind jumps (jumps where you can't see where you land, often you land on spikes)

The zoomed in camera is great for the ambiance but for gameplay it is not ideal

Same for the palette, everything and especially the jump pads blend in the decor (the spikes also don't feel like spikes, you have to die a couple of time to drill it in that they are dangerous even with the danger sign.)

Lastly, it is a very subjective thing but I feel like the light managment stuff are not really incorporated in the gameplay. We don't really feel stressed when we are close to dyng because we don't lose progression. We also die mostly of spikes.
I think removing the spike would be nice, the only thing that should kill you is unopitmal movement, the light source should be farther apart and when close to dying to them there should be an arrow pointing at the closest one.

Overall though, great game !

Developer

says the one that loves making there games easy

👀
but thanks I wanted the camera like that so its not easy to find the light/coins you could say the jump pad they are snails they must blend the light you the player only starts "stressing" when your time goes below 7 i dint want the game to be hard for reasons like yours 👀 so its more of a calm moving forward i willl say there is to much light post i will change that and as for the level between the checkpoints i wanted it like you have to take a chance of goint the other way but the player has to much time so if they are fast they can go both ways.

Really amazing graphics for being so simplistic!
One thing i would change is add more sound effects.

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot! I’m really glad you enjoyed the graphics and atmosphere . I wanted to keep things super minimal and let the music carry most of the mood. That’s why I didn’t add too many extra sound effects, since I wanted the soundtrack to be the main focus. I appreciate the feedback though, and I’ll keep it in mind as I polish things further!

I like the atmosphere is this one, I think you did a good job of having cohesive art that works well together and I think the music fit the feel of the game pretty well

Developer

I’m really glad you enjoyed the atmosphere

The atmosphere of this is so cool! I live for the minimalist monocrome pixel art. You nailed the vibes. I would have played all the way through but sadly was having some input and performance issues and some of the checkpoints didnt work :,) Other than that this is so lovely!

Developer(+1)

Heyy, thank you so much for playing and for the kind words about the atmosphere and art style that really means a lot! I’ve added checkpoints since your playthrough (there are two now), so hopefully that helps with progression. I’ll definitely look into the input and performance issues you mentioned, and also double‑check the checkpoint logic to make sure they trigger properly. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts it helps me improve the game a ton
