What a fun rogue-like, having a lot of people in the testing stage really shows how well done and well thought this platformer has been. The music is fabulous even though it is one track

We actually have 8 tracks! One for each zone (and the last randomizes between two), one for each boss, and one for the shop! My friend also made a jazz song which I was going to use for the credits and end of the game but I forgot to implement it last minute :(

yeah i finished it, it was really good. Great job. Please continue to make games

thank you we really appreciate it

This game is so much better then I first thought it would be! The fact that you even have bosses is amazing! I thought that the upgrades would just be simple stat bonuses but there is also abilities, which is soo nice. One thing that could be better is the readability in the shop, all the text boxes kind off overlap making it very hard to read. Overall a really good experience!

super engaging, and really nice animations, had a lot of fun

The shop had a Paper Mario (the 2000's one) vibe! Love it and the seller's pixel art!

It was very neat to run against ourselves; somehow, it seems that my first run is often better than my second one ^^

Nicely worked with the countdown constraint!

Sellers pixel art was made by Jacob (thanks jacob!) Oddly enough never played paper mario the shop was more inspired by Spelunky.

This had some GREAT juice and game feel! A super good execution of the "count down is your health" approach and movement was very very fantastic and polished - you've got all the quality of life things a platformer needs. I adore the inclusion of being able to see past runs, it reminds me of when I played and was obsessed with speedrunning Super Meat Boy. You've also managed to include bosses during the span of the jam, excellent work!

Aside from some balancing notes mentioned in previous comments like just being able to grind the first area, I felt the control choice was just a little weird of having J be attack and E be interact since they're so far apart - it might be better to have movement grouped in one place and all other buttons in another (for example, arrow keys for movement, Z for jump, X to attack, etc.) But this also comes down to personal preference, maybe I'm just weird!

Really fun entry, great work!!

Thanks so much for playing! The past run idea was one that we had thought of but struggled to figure out, but we're glad it came out well! As for the control choice the key binds can be changed in the settings page, although it probably would've been better if we had mentioned that in the tutorial haha.

Also I loooove your game!!!

was wondering what the green guy following me around was until i realized! that's such an amazing idea to have your past self helping! the art is cool, and dope animation! so polished for only 4 days.

The multi-run time bank is a really fun way to create replay ability, and using that same resource for upgrades is a cool idea.  Good entry!

What a great game!  The game kept surprising me with novel concepts.  The controls are great, upgrades are fun, and gameplay totally engaging.  I love how time slows down to give instruction when new mechanic is unlocked.  I know that is often used in games, but it just fits so well in your time based game.  Just a pleasure to play.

There was so many times I thought "ooh that's clever!" here!

Using the countdown as the healthbar, and for the money, and showing the past you so you can see how much faster you're going, and having the shop be a physical space just left of the start, not to mention a bunch of the upgrades, all of it is very well thought out!

Also love the humor of the shopkeep, and how clean the animation for the speech bubble is!?!

But yeah, all around very well done! :)

Oh my gosh thank you!!! you're the first person who mentioned the shopkeep humor hahahaha i really appreciate the feedback and im so glad you noticed how everything fits i really tried to make the whole mechanic based around time

Having your past run clones assist you in fighting enemies and clearing paths while you race the clock is such a genius concept!

This game is really well done, it feels very polished and very fun, the concept is creative and the platforming/movement feels good. Had a lot of fun on that one. Great work !

Why does this not have 2000 comments 0_0. That was so so good. Kind of didn't read the description and I could not understand why my time isn't increasing. Then I realized I'm spending it :D Thank you for making this. You should be proud :D
