This was beautiful, glad I found the time to play before the voting ended. Great job!
Thanks! Glad you had a chance to play it.
ArtManOil did a great job on the art and music. π
I had some stuff to do internally once the jam ended though. π (Still got more we wanted to change/fix up, so it'll be something to pick at for the next month in my free time.)
This was fun, nice work Wesley!
Glad you enjoyed it! π
I fixed some of the audio issues and a couple of bugs that people found.
But I still have some things we want to add/change.
I enjoyed that. It was a bit confusing at first, but once I understand it was rather intuitive, addicting and made me feel powerful.
I was hoping for more levels. Not sure how long the jam was, though.
Unique, cohesive and enjoyable aesthetic. Liked puzzling out the placement and managing multiple resources.
All the games that they made me play before I could play this were significantly less interesting and well made, this stands out to me, but that's not a surprise. Thank you for this experience and another chance to learn.
I'll hold onto the original mp4 video file for a while if you want it.
Thanks for playing it, and working your way through the voting queue to get to rate it. π
Glad you enjoyed it!
We've been collecting feedback, and we'll update the game after the voting period end. We had the assets needed for a boss fight and some other features, but we didn't get them in to the game in time. (People have been suggesting an infinite mode, and I think we'll add that as a "new game+" option for people who already beat the game. π€)
I've watched the video, so don't worry about holding onto the mp4. Thanks though. π
Really good mechanics great game
Thanks! We're really happy with it, so we're glad people enjoy it. π
I feel like the βdeckβ area for the buildings can feel more like a deck and let you preview their abilities after u have bought them. The buildings and the paths make for great synergies but I feel the enemies are a bit too weak. I donβt even know what their attacks are, and they are dead already. an infinite mode with ramping up difficulty could be fun
Yeah, I meant to come back and rebalance the combat, but ran out of time.
That'll definitely be at the top of my list when we come back to work on it, along with adding the boss fight.
Somebody else suggested an infinite mode, and I think that's a great idea, maybe as a new game+ sort of thing. π
I love this game so much! I just wish there was an infinite mode!
Awesome idea for the future. π
Maybe we could stick in a leaderboard or highscore mode too.
This was a fun and spooky strategy game! I found it really satisfying to arrange and re-arrange the upgrades and towers to be in the most optimal spots, and I think that central mechanic was really interesting. The upgrades and troop types themselves all fit together well, and there was never really a definite 'best' choice when picking upgrades. For some feedback, I think it would have been nice if the third section was a bit more interactive rather than just waiting for everything to play out, and it was also a bit confusing how the different mouse options interacted with it (using the 'upgrade' option sometimes made my troops bigger during the battle section, but it was unclear what that did exactly). Other than that though, this is a very well done submission with great art and mechanics. Good work!
Thanks! I'm really glad you enjoyed it. π
I was scrambling a bit as the end to add in tool tips and stuff, but didn't get enough in before the deadline.
When we come back to it, I'll add proper tooltips that explain the things you hover over, and add some helpful juice in places to try and make things more obvious. The upgrade action during combat increases all of the units stats, so I could also add some particles that represent each stat, and have them burst out of the unit when it's upgraded. π€
I finally understood the mechanics and damn that was a good game glad i gave it a shot , i was confused what i had to do in the start all i had to do was place it in the center after that i first tired it
What are the countrols and how to play i keep losing idk why and how to start the waves
Sorry it isn't clearer, but you only control the game with the mouse.
At the beginning of the game, buy a tile from the shop that says that it spawns a unit, always on the left side of the shop, and then buy whatever else you want/can from the shop, and press "GO!".
Then drag those tiles into the castle, with the spawner tile showing where your units will walk, and place the other tiles on that path to buff them. When you run out of hours, or you press the "to dawn" button, combat will start. During combat you can use the tools to move units, hurt units, or buff units, and you go to the shop again after the fight.
Rinse, repeat, until you beat the game or lose. π
its really fun, unique idea also u using gdevelop woww
Glad you enjoyed it. π (And yeah, GDevelop. β₯)
OHH WAITT ISNT YOU THE GUY THAT VOICE OVER IN GDEVELOP YT??
Yeah. That's me. π
Fun to play. Took me a minute to figure out, what I had to do, but once I got into it, can definitely see some potential there. Good entry :)
Thanks! We were really happy with the design we came up with, and we'll definitely come back later and polish it up, and include a better tutorial. π
Cool game! I think it is too easy, I spam units without any particular build in mind, and it just shredded
Yeah, definitely too easy. π I meant to go back and add more/stronger units for the enemies, but ran out of time.
After the voting phase we'll release a new version with rebalancing. tπ
Very fun and cool game. Had a great time playing it and has a lovely style.
I'm really glad you liked it. π
Very cool and great job with the theming!!
Only gripe is that I WISHSHHH this game was longer and had some more difficulty; this game feels so nice, and I love it... I WANT MOREEEE lol it's good!
Well I guess it's good to leave them wanting more. π Glad you enjoyed it.
We're collecting a list of issues/bugs that we find, and we have a list of things we want to change/add to improve them game after the jam voting period. Increasing difficulty and adding a final boss fight are both definitely on our to-do list. π
I liked the game! Although after some time I could no longer drag the structure around anymore. Sniper guy is OP!
Glad you enjoyed it. π
The sniper guy is pretty good, but I think I remember that the bats have a faster starting speed, so I remember they could rip through the enemies if you boost their reach stat. π¦
It was fun. I completed the game for the first try. Maybe a bit too easy. But either way I had a good time playing it. Good graphics and sounds. Def one of the best games with similar theme on this jam. Congrats!
I added 1-2 enemies per round and meant to come back and change them before submission, buuuuttttttt that didn't happen. π
Glad you had fun though. We'll fix up the rough edges and add in the boss fight that wanted to add into the game. π
Clever little game with a great art style, though a little rough around the edges since a lot of things weren't super duper clear and it misses a bunch of build variety. There's also a bug where if a lot of units upgrade at the same time the effect gets super loud
In spite of that, I had a ton of fun and there's definitely a lot here that could be turned into a small little strategy game. Good stuff!
We realized near the end that we didn't have the tutorial added in, so crammed in the text in the shop and the little text box to tell people about the tools in the last hours before submitting. π
Definitely some things we'd like to come back to and finish up after the voting period.
This is a really unique concept!
I haven't seen anything quite like this before! I did feel a bit lost at times, which led to a few sudden gameover screens, but the game is incredibly fun and shows a lot of promise. Great work
Yeah, I accidentally game overed myself when I was playtesting right before submitting the game.
And thanks! We were really happy with our game's design, but we just couldn't quite finish getting it all in. There was a boss fight planned and the boss was even made too, but we couldn't quite get it into the game in time.
For the post jam update. π π
Good game and concept, The art is very cool too. Very unfortunate it could not be fully done in time.
Thanks! π We'll definitely come back and finish this after the voting period ends.
rly great game i like this one cant wait for devlog
Thanks. π
I'll fix the game up before the devlog, so people can play the game in the state we wanted it to be in. π
