Thanks for playing it, and working your way through the voting queue to get to rate it. ๐Ÿ˜…

Glad you enjoyed it!

We've been collecting feedback, and we'll update the game after the voting period end. We had the assets needed for a boss fight and some other features, but we didn't get them in to the game in time. (People have been suggesting an infinite mode, and I think we'll add that as a "new game+" option for people who already beat the game. ๐Ÿค”)

I've watched the video, so don't worry about holding onto the mp4. Thanks though. ๐Ÿ‘

Yeah, I meant to come back and rebalance the combat, but ran out of time.

That'll definitely be at the top of my list when we come back to work on it, along with adding the boss fight.

Somebody else suggested an infinite mode, and I think that's a great idea, maybe as a new game+ sort of thing. ๐Ÿ‘

Thanks! I'm really glad you enjoyed it. ๐Ÿ‘

I was scrambling a bit as the end to add in tool tips and stuff, but didn't get enough in before the deadline.

When we come back to it, I'll add proper tooltips that explain the things you hover over, and add some helpful juice in places to try and make things more obvious. The upgrade action during combat increases all of the units stats, so I could also add some particles that represent each stat, and have them burst out of the unit when it's upgraded. ๐Ÿค”

Awesome idea for the future. ๐Ÿ‘€

Maybe we could stick in a leaderboard or highscore mode too.

Thanks! We're really happy with it, so we're glad people enjoy it. ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Yeah. That's me. ๐Ÿ‘

With 10k games submitted to the jam, that could take a while.๐Ÿ˜…

Yeah, definitely too easy. ๐Ÿ˜… I meant to go back and add more/stronger units for the enemies, but ran out of time.

After the voting phase we'll release a new version with rebalancing. t๐Ÿ‘

Thanks! We were really happy with the design we came up with, and we'll definitely come back later and polish it up, and include a better tutorial. ๐Ÿ˜…

Glad you enjoyed it. ๐Ÿ‘ (And yeah, GDevelop. โ™ฅ)

Sorry it isn't clearer, but you only control the game with the mouse.

At the beginning of the game, buy a tile from the shop that says that it spawns a unit, always on the left side of the shop, and then buy whatever else you want/can from the shop, and press "GO!".

Then drag those tiles into the castle, with the spawner tile showing where your units will walk, and place the other tiles on that path to buff them. When you run out of hours, or you press the "to dawn" button, combat will start. During combat you can use the tools to move units, hurt units, or buff units, and you go to the shop again after the fight.

Rinse, repeat, until you beat the game or lose. ๐Ÿ‘

I'm really glad you liked it. ๐Ÿ‘

Well I guess it's good to leave them wanting more. ๐Ÿ˜… Glad you enjoyed it.

We're collecting a list of issues/bugs that we find, and we have a list of things we want to change/add to improve them game after the jam voting period. Increasing difficulty and adding a final boss fight are both definitely on our to-do list. ๐Ÿ‘

Glad you enjoyed it. ๐Ÿ‘

The sniper guy is pretty good, but I think I remember that the bats have a faster starting speed, so I remember they could rip through the enemies if you boost their reach stat. ๐Ÿฆ‡

I added 1-2 enemies per round and meant to come back and change them before submission, buuuuttttttt that didn't happen. ๐Ÿ˜…

Glad you had fun though. We'll fix up the rough edges and add in the boss fight that wanted to add into the game. ๐Ÿ‘

We realized near the end that we didn't have the tutorial added in, so crammed in the text in the shop and the little text box to tell people about the tools in the last hours before submitting. ๐Ÿ˜…

Definitely some things we'd like to come back to and finish up after the voting period.

Yeah, I accidentally game overed myself when I was playtesting right before submitting the game.

And thanks! We were really happy with our game's design, but we just couldn't quite finish getting it all in. There was a boss fight planned and the boss was even made too, but we couldn't quite get it into the game in time.

For the post jam update. ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ‘

Thanks! ๐Ÿ‘ We'll definitely come back and finish this after the voting period ends.

Thanks. ๐Ÿ™

I'll fix the game up before the devlog, so people can play the game in the state we wanted it to be in. ๐Ÿ‘

Ran out of time at the end for a final check on the enemy balance, and we had a boss fight that was mostly finished too, but we couldn't squeeze it in before the deadline.

We'll come back and finish this one up after the voting period.

Thanks. Yeah, I was going to spend time figuring out the right balance for the enemies, but near the end we realized that we didn't add anything that explains how the game was supposed to be played, so we spent the last bit of time adding in the text in the shop, and the box that explains what the tools are at the beginning. ๐Ÿ˜… (There was also a boss that we had mostly finished, but couldn't get in before the deadline.)

We'll definitely come back to this one and fix up the rough edges. This is a fun idea, and we'd love to see it fully finished.

(And no... I don't think the hour tile is working, because its set to 3 at the beginning of each new round instead of adding 3, so it overwrites any hours that you collected from the previous round. ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ)

We had a boss ready to be added into the game, but ran out of time to finish adding them in. ๐Ÿ˜…

When the voting period is over we'll rebalance it to be harder and add the boss in. ๐Ÿ‘

Dang dude. This is my best attempt.

Thanks. It's added.๐Ÿ‘

We can't add videos to our playlist that are marked as "made for kids" in the video options.

If you change that setting, let me know. ๐Ÿ‘

I found this one on YouTube earlier, and added it to the playlist then. ๐Ÿ‘

I understand the frustration, I've taken part in a lot of jams where I didn't make it into the showcase video at the end of the jam. It's definitely rough after spending that much energy on the game.

But there were over 400 games submitted to the jam, all made by people who would have loved to be in the video, and I definitely can't cram 400 games into a single video, so the fairest thing to do is show games based on their rank in the jam.

Sometimes the judge voting and community voting don't line up, and more games end up being shown in the video, but this time they were both fairly consistent, so a lot of the same games got repeatedly shown, and fewer games were seen in the video overall.

The jam winners were announced on June 5th. ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ‘€

If your team won a prize in the jam, follow the instructions in our latest blog post about the jam:
https://gdevelop.io/blog/winners-gdevelop-game-jam-9

The announcement video is here if you'd like to watch it and see more about the jam:

Thanks! It's added.

YouTube doesn't let us add content to playlists if it's marked as "for kids".

The voting isn't quite finished yet, and then a video for the jam needs to be made.

It will be set to premiere at least 24 hours before it will be released, and we'll share the video link through all of our socials and email to make sure everyone knows when the results will be released. (The current plan is this Friday.)

Thanks. They're added.๐Ÿ‘

No, this has nothing to do with rankings in any way, this is just for fun.
