Not much happens during my time playing, but the vibes is really eerie and I'm always at the edge of my seat. I really like the artstyle and it feels polished. Kudos to the devs :D

Developer

Thank you so much!

Well, it's not supposed to be an high octane experience, glad you enjoyed the atmosphere and the artstyle :)

Not as horror as I thought, but I liked it!

My daggerfall trauma are coming back !

Loved the spooky atmosphere, created a real sense of dread lol. Very well done!

Developer

Thank you! Our programmer spent a lot of time on setting the atmosphere

I adore the art and atmosphere of this game! I'm ngl I didn't read the description beforehand and got a little frustrated and not being able to figure out what I was doing, but once I found the map I really really liked it. I also liked my Normal friend who walked through the maze with me :) Very good job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the compliments!

Yeah the next update we'll make sure you'll be able to hold hands with the monster  friend and go out together.

Very cool artstyle and atmosphere!

Great job!

+ Hope to try my game

Developer(+1)

Glad you liked the artstyle, our artist had to do everything in just a day! We chained him to the desk until it was all done.

The atmosphere here was really cool - the encroaching horror of the darkness, a creature lurking, the fact that every now and then you just saw eyes gleaming back from the dark - more than once I found myself hearing a scraping sound, turning, and coming face-to-face with something mere inches from my view.

It was then that I figured out the map mechanic - I had to get to the X, and finding my way was the problem. I wonder if landmarks generated into the maze could help with that - finding a landmark like a larger chamber or pit, and then using that to figure out where you are on the map, and navigate from there.

It was a really cool idea - being forced to rely on my wits, and figure out my safe route. As I got to the exit, I glanced back one last time - and the creature was quite literally right on top of me. Damn near shat myself with that one - no screaming jumpscare, no sudden lunging snarl, it just - loomed.

This games' atmosphere was really intense, and the aesthetic blew me away with just how deep into the dark I ended up falling.

I think the creature being more of a stalking threat is cool - with it only ready to close in once the dwindling fire dies down - but I wonder if it could be cool to have more opportunities for it to act? Sabotaging your route - blocking your path in some way, leaving scratch marks and evidence of it's existence beside a set of eyes peering through the void? It could definitely fit the vibe this was going for of a subtle, build-up horror.

Really well done!

We're very glad you like the atmosphere and the monster!

We didn't have time to implement halls and such, but some landmarks are there and your intuition is correct, finding them wiull make your life much easier.

If we're going to develop it further we're gonna totally make the ogre a lot smarter, don give us too many ideas!

Submitted(+1)

Loved the idea! We also played with fire as the timer. Bigfoot kept running away from me :( I tried to follow him, but he was too fast. All I wanted to do was say hi

Developer (1 edit)

He's a bit shy, just give him some time. Like, a couple of minutes, just for your torch to run out ;)

Classic labyrinth dungeon crawler. But I shit my pants a little bit when i first saw this fella. Overall good job

Developer

It just wants to hug you, don't worry

Amazing game! Really like the atmosphere. Love the glowing eyes in the dark. Had fun trying to figure out where I was on the map.

Developer

Thank you!

Glad you had fun trying to find your way out, at certain point in development we thought if it could prove too frustrating without a marker, but seems like it turned out fine!

Submitted(+1)

Cool idea and great art! The monster is not scary at all though. When I saw the eyes my first thought was to follow them.

Developer

Well, you are just built different I guess!

Cool game, nice visuals!  Enemy is scary, eyes visible in  the shadows is a cool detail. However, he doesn't seem to do anything . I assume it was supposed to kill the player but something didn't work out. Maybe it would be interesting if he ate a chunk of the map every time player bumps into it?

Developer

It's supposed to kill you if it touches you, but someone forgot to implement what happens if the player touches it instead lol

Submitted(+1)

I liked the visuals and atmosphere, that enemy behind me when i turned around actually scared the hell out of me. I couldn't get to the end but nice implementation! Was there an audio buzzing issue or was that just me?

Developer

On our attemps the audio was fine, but sometimes the game jitters a bit due to the implementation not being the best for the web view. My bad!
Anyway thank you for playing!
I'm glad the monster did its job! ahahah

So spooky and great job on the atmosphere and artstyle.  I love the idea of the countdown being your torch slowly running out, and the way it limits what you can see of the map adds to the suspense!  Not being able to see where you are on the map and having to rely on landmarks in the maze is a neat idea too.  With some more polish this would be a really good little horror game.

Developer

Thank you so much! Yeah we are pretty proud of the idea of the intrinsic countdown of the torch.

We had many little ideas to tweak the game but we didn't have the time at the end, pity.

Interesting art and idea. I'm really bad at navigation - I never understood where exactly I am on the map, but that's on me. It was fun running away from the monster.

Developer(+1)

Yeah everybody feels very different about navigation-based games, that's why I really wanted to put a customizable difficulty setting, but alas I didn't finish in time!

Anayway I tried your game. Cute idea! I fell many times due to timing wrong the upward currents ahah

Submitted(+1)

The artwork is so good! I liked how the monsters eyes lit in the dark as it stalks the player. If you were to continue development, I'd make it for the monster to actually attack you if you see it, instead of just following you. Nice Job

Developer

Thanks for the compliment on the art, our artist had to do it in just a day because an unexpected obligation came up.

The monster was supposed to eat you, and it actually does in the develoment version so... maybe it's not hungry in the published one?

Submitted(+1)

It's quite small, the art is good, and the torch feedback is very nice.

The enemy is just for show; if they tweak the level design a bit, it has potential.

Developer

The monster wasn't supposed to be just for show. A thousand lashes to my programmer!

Submitted (1 edit) (+3)

Welp, I'm lost, decided to follow the monster but disappointed he didn't eat me xd

Is the torch really fading out?

Developer

Yes the torch is fading out, it just takes a while.

Seems like the monster has lost its appetite in the web version, damn.
