How does your game fit the theme?
For the GMTK 2026 theme "COUNT DOWN", I wanted the countdown to become more than just a timer. I wanted it to be the foundation of the entire game. Every major gameplay system revolves around things counting down to zero. Your own remaining lifetime is constantly decreasing, and the only way to survive is by stealing time from enemies in the world. Every enemy has a finite amount of "Remaining Time" which acts as both its health and the amount of damage it can inflict. If an enemy reaches you before being defeated, it steals time from you based on how much Remaining Time it still has. The world itself also obeys the same rule. Enemy portals count down before opening and spawning new enemies, meaning every important system in the game is driven by countdowns. Rather than using COUNT DOWN as a simple fail timer, I made it the central mechanic that powers combat, survival, progression and the game's overall design.

Great Job fun and very colorful bullet hell style game, i felt a bit overpowered though and didn't have a way to quit, had to let them kill me great effects. excellent submission.
🎮 Thanks again to everyone who’s been playing and leaving feedback. It has genuinely been shaping the direction of the game.
If you’d like to follow development after the GMTK Jam, I’ve created a Discord where I’ll be sharing updates, bug fixes, and new features as they’re implemented.
I’d also love to keep hearing your ideas as the game evolves!

i really loved the visuals and juice in general. it felt very satisfying to kill enemies. reminds me of geometry wars! with some roguelike elements i think this would have a lot of staying power.
This game has great potential. The sound effects and visual effects are polished really well. I’d love to come back and play it more if you add some roguelike elements.
Thanks a lot for playing! I’m really glad you enjoyed the sound and visual effects. 😄
I completely agree with you on adding more roguelike elements to give players more meaningful progression between runs. That’s definitely now on my list for future updates.
When you do decide to come back and give it another shot, bug fixes will have been rolled out, and I’ll be continuing to add new features including the roguelike elements you suggested.
Thanks again for the kind words and for seeing the potential in my game. It really means a lot! 🏂🎮✨
Damn you really went all in on the visuals. The game looks great and super clean, zero complaints there. The audio design also really complements the gameplay and both of those combined makes this game really satisfying to play. I could honestly play this for hours and my ADHD brain would enjoy every second of it. The only issue I have is that the game is way too easy imo. I never felt like I ever had the chance of dying. Other than that great game!!
Thank you so much! I'm really happy to hear the visuals and audio came together well. That satisfying gameplay loop was exactly what I was aiming for, so hearing you'd happily play it for hours honestly means a lot. 😄
And I completely agree about the difficulty. Balancing was one of the last things I had time for before the deadline, and I definitely ended up making it a bit too forgiving. I'll be tuning that up in a post-jam update.
Thanks again for taking the time to play and leave a feedback! ⛷️🎮✨
Nice game! Was very satisfying to shoot for the hordes. I did find it was unlosable at one point. I could sit in the bottom corner and just shoot without moving and my time went above 2k lol even without shooting it took like a minute to be killed from there.
The visuals are very striking though and the audio to match! had a blast playing it tbh, had there been an upgrade system or something this could have been a fully fleshed game I think! Great job!
Thanks a lot for playing! I’m really glad you enjoyed the combat, visuals, and audio. 😄
I hadn't considered that players could safely camp in the corner for so long, so I'll definitely be looking at ways to discourage that while rebalancing the combat and difficulty scaling in an upcoming update.
And yes, an upgrade system is definitely planned! I had a lot more ideas that didn’t make it into the jam build, so I’m looking forward to expanding the game over the coming updates.
Thanks again for the feedback and for seeing the potential in it. It really means a lot! ⛷️🎮✨
Yeah it's easily done in a jam lol, you get hundreds of ideas and there's never enough time! haha
