Interesting game, but I too did struggle with the level selection on my 1440p monitor, and also the settings menu was weirdly scaled showing the default unity background as a nice framing all the was around ath 1920x1080 menu. I did figure out how the game worked, however I was desperately missing a undo button. This is often not the easiest to implement, I can recommend looking into the Command Pattern though ^^ But in this current stage, making even a single mistake forces you to replay the entire level, which gets quite frustrating, leading to me trying to speed up my movement, making more msitakes etc, etc. ^^ But overall good job on the game, the mechanics worked nicely, just wish for that undo button haha!
The pictures look cool! Unfortunately the level selection screen did not appear to work properly on a 1440p monitor, and when I finally clicked somewhere on the screen that had one of the invisible level buttons, it was definitely not the tutorial level, and I didn't know what I was doing.
Good take on the theme, simple but original ! The visuals are also very nice, well done :)
Honestly I would love to stay and complete all levels if the music will loop. It slaps asf, I like it. Sounds are good, some are to quiet comparing to others. Like walking on tiles, I start hearing after music ends and bats sound i hear all the time.
Game has 0 narrative imo, but it is pretty creative game. Like conception walking on tiles with count down theme. I could gave more points for artwork but these are free assets, not made by you guys so I'm gonna just leave it on mid, but at least are good fiting on game.
Honestly, I dosen't like the name of game. It is litteraly name of theme. You could gave anything instead of this, I think game could be more accaptable by players than Count down. Maybe it's stupid to critizies name of the game, but I think it is important aspect of game.
I have a important question, who are the devs, and did you make the music or from free sites? I only see Jisaki is dev, but other dev/devs not. Please credit all of them imo It's more important than credits assets you use.
Last words, maybe I will comeback and play again to complete all levels... I Like the game
We were 2 devs but my friend hasnt got a itch account. The music is made by another friend of mine (YT Link). We were also really saddened by the music not looping. And also this was our both first game and gamejam so we didnt really have that much experience. Also we thought noone else would make the count pun in the title
Interesting concept, but I have to admit that I thought the level design didn't always quite make the best of it (though I didn't play all the levels). Some of the levels made good use of the central mechanic, but for others, it just felt like it was slapped on without really influencing level design too much. I strongly advocate for undo buttons in puzzle games, but I appreciate that undo systems are not always trivial to implement, especially during a jam. Still, all in all, a pretty solid little puzzler.
I did all the levels (I think, the game didn’t progress me :D). Some of them were quite tricky, and I couldn’t work out the last one until I went into the comments here and found that I can push more than one at a time.
But this game definitely gave me the “this is impossible, there’s no way this is doable” followed by the “ah ha, that’s how you do it” moments which was really cool.
The countdown twist was nice, but it made it quite hard for me to plan too far in advance because I would forget what numbers were on the floor.
Last level completed!
Cool game! Punny take on the theme as well, and nice puzzles!
Fun puzzles! They were surprisingly challenging!
These are some really fun puzzles. They're all creative, and there's a nice difficulty progression with the only truly difficult puzzle being right at the end. And it was really fun to figure that one out.
Great job!
Thank you for playing!!
Very nice. The background music is also very fitting and good. An undo button would be nice though.
Solid jam entry! It was really fun and actually took some brain power but I got to level 6, I plan to finish this soon!
There are some good puzzles here.
I did spend longer than I should have on level 4 as I incorrectly assumed traditional sokoban rule of "only one box can be pushed at a time."
Thank you for playing!! We could have done a better job explaining it but we were really short on time and make the game actually playable.
I like the sokoban quite a bit. The tile countdown was such a simple yet deep take on the theme, definitely a strong contender for most elegant take on the theme in terms of mechanics. I also liked the art style, everything was smooth.
My only request would be an undo button. So many times I found the solution then misclicked and had to start over, sometimes I forgot again. Definitely my fault, but undo button would be #1 pick for update.
Thank you! We would definitely consider an undo button if we continued development.
I really enjoyed this game ! A bit hard for me, but very fun :)
PS : the music doesn't loops, but it's okay
Thanks! We were really short on time didnt notice the loop issue until we published.
MUSIC DONT LOOP PLS DONT KILL ME
