This was super ambitious for a jam game! Building and launching the rocket was really fun, even though most of mine went straight into the ground. A more hands-on tutorial would help a lot, and I also got stuck on the map screen after crashing once.

This is incredible, I have no idea how you made a somewhat accurate rocket simulation (with map zooming) in such a short amount of time. As a KSP player I knew roughly what I was doing but I think a more hands-on tutorial would really help this game out!

I think so too, I wanted to make one but ran out of time sadly

A super fun game, although it was difficult for me to build my ship in time for launch.

Very ambitious for a jam game! Building the rocket reminded me of the board game Galaxy Trucker (check it out if it wasn't already an inspiration)! I am not a kerbal space program veteran so I have no clue how to make a good rocket. All mine seemed to plunge straight into the ground. I did also get a bug where if I used the map screen, it wouldn't go back to the rocket build screen after it had crashed. Anyway, I had fun with this, nice entry :)

You'll generally want to fly rockets mostly straight up until you're out of the atmosphere. you can watch the playthrough I posted to see the easiest way to pilot the rockets. Thanks for playing!

no way we got KSP in GMTK

much fun, though aiming for the last fragment of the asteroid can be hard

i like space and this is great concept! nice game !

I could not figure out how to launch the rocket. I added different amounts of parts, but kept needing to reload the page when I got soft locked into watching the Earth spin. Very nice concept, good use of the theme! All Hail Helix!!!

Developer

It's possible you made a rocket too heavy to launch. you might need more thrusters! The starting rocket can fly easily

AH I can't read. I kept trying to launch with "W" or with "Space bar", but not with "Shift".

Developer

Also, if you are watching the world spin, you might just be zoomed out, not soft locked. Hope you liked it once you figured it out!
