Very cute all around, I really like the setting and the story. I do wish there was a little more around, it's a bit hard to judge where I am in space on some of the bigger gaps.

Liked the music and the serenity of the enviorment, despite imminent doom. I think the juxtaposition of the two was pretty interesting as a game theme.
Couple of things I noticed:
- I was a little confused on how to play this game in the beginning, wasn't sure if I was supposed to move the train or it would move for myself
- The camera seems to skip a lot, for example right before landing
- Also one thing was on the 2nd station, I found my camera skipped behind (where the first station was) which made the game play feel a bit erratic.
Also I laughed a bit at the landing blast effect haha, I guess it makes sense because the E key is a rocket jump? Overall had a good time!
I went so fast I passed the first terminal by accident, controlling the speed of the train to stop just soon enough to be able to stop at the gates was more fun than I thought itd be!

I really don't know what it is about Fish Train In Space that moved me so much. I'm really not joking or being ironic. This game moved me in a way that I haven't felt in a while from any game.
I'm flying through this surreal place, that according to the text is a remnant of something greater. I'm completely alone here, jumping on flying mantarrays and collecting huge tech to help me survive. But it just feels so peaceful. Despite the timer that's counting towards my death, it feels peaceful. Everything is at ease. Surreal and bizarre, but at ease.
I don't know if this is meant as a joke game or something, but it was really special to play through. I got all three endings and I loved all of it.
Thank you for this comment! This is my second game jam ever, and my third ever public game. (One of them was on scratch lol)!
The game was not a meme game lol - but I also didn't expect it to touch the hearts of so many people! The reason my games are so whimsical is because in real life, I myself look to the fun and silly side of things. The space manta ray was actually modelled using a manta ray png, that I then painted in blender how I wanted, to fit the space theme. I did realize that the game has a melancholy feel, and I played into that. I'm suprised I had enough time to add 3 endings!
I am very glad the game moved you, and I don't know if you mean that as a joke, but it means alot to me either way.
What more can I say about hit game fish train in space. Masterpiece. 10/10. I loved how the whole world would shake every time as my massive badunka slammed into the ground, creating tremors of a magnitude beyond human comprehension. Would fish train again.
fun little 3d platformer ! i liked the story, i love space, basically felt like im playing outer wilds 🤪 i liked the boom everytime u landed with the rocket jump lol, very creative with the fish train and dyson sphere
Ugh giving me an error in windows and can't launch it T_T skipping rate cause I don't want to invent a score
I really liked the feel of the game. The music and sound effects make it feel very chill, alongside the simple and goofy aesthetic. I enjoyed getting the endings, but struggled a bit with the last Dyson Ring. Overall a very fun game!
cool! Definitely liked the concept, but it feels like the execution might have been a little lacking. Very charming and whimsical submission! Would fish train in space again
Not sure what I expected from a game called Fish Train in Space but it wasn't that, and maybe that's on me. Either way, it's a fun game that finds a neat balance between being silly and introspective, nice job.
Honse easter egg was great, along with everything else! (also don't know if it was intentional but you can ride the fish train past the final platform)
This is a fun concept! As a fellow fish game artist I obviously enjoyed the motifs lol, but I also enjoyed how the narrative went really deep for a game that wasn't dialogue-heavy. The hard landings were pretty funny too. Fun game!
It took me a few tries but I got all the endings. This game was pretty goofy of course, but what I didn't expect was it to actually be really narratively strong. The last person alive riding their fish train in space. It feels somber but also like the protagonist has excepted this outcome. After all, everyone else is already gone. I really like how to mood never changes with the endings. They are all pretty equal. I think this tone is especially strong with the amazing music. The ticking sounds show the urgency, but aside from that the song is slow. It's somber, yet relaxing. Accepting.
And thus concludes my narrative analysis of "Fish Train in Space"
Honse
Thanks so much for the kind comment! I really wanted to tie the theme into more of a relaxed game, but at the same time, still silly and challenging like all of my games. Don't ask how I come up with my ideas LOL, they kinda just appear. For the music, you want to credit /profile/electro-lui-music!!! He made the amazing music, and it made making the game so much more enjoyable.
It remainded me of Outer Wilds, some sort of contemplative game. Nice job :)
I love that every asset is made using blender texture tools (or at least that's what it looks like) and because of that they all look drawn with crayon. I failed a lot and could never finished the last ring.
my only suggestion is I wish there was a dropdown shadow for the player so I could judge my landings a bit better, without that depth perception that you get in real life, I have a really hard time landing those huge jumps!
Yes!!! The models are hand painted by me using the blender texture paint tool. I now realize that maybe the parkour was a bit too hard, but i never had time for anyone other than me too playtest. When I watched my friend play it today, they also struggled, so sorry about that. Im very glad that you liked the art style tho
