There is so much to say about this game. It is an incredibly interesting concept but perhaps a little too ambitious. The mechanics are very complex, not impossible to follow, but a nightmare to teach and learn. I'm not sure whether the complexity itself is at fault, or it might work just fine with a much more polished UI. Personally I would probably prefer that most roles actions are reduced to two options to massively reduce complexity while keeping most of the ideas and concepts, but more than anything the game needs better visuals to indicate what each action does and a cleaner tooltip showing you the likes and dislikes of each noble (also a shorter time to show said tooltip to speed up the gameplay loop). I was VERY intrigued by the gameplay as I do enjoy games that involve diplomacy in their gam loop and would love to see this game polished to a state that makes it much more accessible. Otherwise the aesthetic is nicem sounds fine, and the concept is incredibly creative.

Thank you for checking out our game!! And yeah too ambitious might just be the right description, lol

We will definitely be making some improvements, so we really appreciate the feedback!

The gameplay itself is quite confusing after reading the quick tutorial, but it was a fun experience nevertheless. The bugs unfortunately made the game annoying to play. The things I admired from this game were the artwork and the music! Great job on those!

Developer

Glad you were still able to have a bit of fun!

We'll be making improvements to the gameplay [and legibility, etc] so thanks for your feedback!

Cool game! i like the audio and art a lot, Adding feeding when something fails to tell you why is a must have in my eyes, as it makes the game feel like it is bugging out

Developer

Yeah feedback as a whole is kind of missing, but we won't let that stay the case!

This was interesting for sure, but real tough to figure out. It almost feels like a hidden information card game of sorts, which is real neat. The readability issues are pretty major, but I’m no stranger to them. I imagine there’s some quite complex systems under the hood given all the relations, so I can only figure the deadline was tough to meet as is! I think if the text were easier to read and not so easily covered up, along with a visual indicator of having to tap others, that would go a long way.

Developer

Really glad you found it interesting!

and yeah legibility is sonething we definitely will be improving, so thanks for your feedback! Means a lot!

This is a nice concept! It’s like figuring out who is the werewolf in a game of werewolf but you have access to all of them and the goal is to shuffle them around.

But this game suffers from a lot of readability issues:

  • A lot of unknowns, what you think is guaranteed is not
  • We don’t know what factors in other than likes, dislikes and goodwill, and even changing those doesn’t guarantee an effect
    • It does feel like none of the actions can affect said goodwill, nor if it’s factored in many of the actions as well
    • The descriptions does not say what gives all of them guarantee
  • The bugs in this game has doesn’t help that it’s cutting off information, like the Knight
  • Crucial information like who to move is not in the description, in fact, you have to zoom in to figure out who you’re putting in the center. Whoever has edit privelages on the entry should put a warning
  • No indication of those whose actions you already have taken for the current round
  • No indication of no places moving, making you think there’s a bug of some sort due to nothing happening
  • Title screen blends with the background and is noisy, hurts to the eyes
    • In fact the thumbnail is better showing the logo than in-game…
  • Title font as normal font. Just makes text hard to read

A lot of these can be fixed by doing a whole overhaul of the UI, just to make details clearer.

The game could have been exported to non-web as well, could’ve fixed it maybe with either fixed or variable size.

Really appreciate all the feed back! and yeah, accesibility as a whole is quite lacking

We will absolutely keep these in mind!

The concept of this game is really cool ! I like choice based games ! so this is a win win situation for me ! I'd love if you check out my game too thanks !

Extremely interesting cool concept. Had a few zoom sizing issues and had a hard time reading the font . but interesting Idea . but I feel like I need pen and paper to get through this game haha. I will get back to this

Developer

Really glad you had fun with it! And yeah it can be a little complicated lol!

I honestly have no Idea how to play and a lot of the text is too hard to read. But I love your art! If you could guide me a bit maybe I can retry later. I'd love to play your game if possible!

Thank you for the kind words! One of our artists, GraizeRaize really came through with most of the art! It took a while for me to get the game mechanics as well, though the way I play is by hovering over some of the options (which you can also do for the portraits), checking if it meets the requirements (Like who likes / dislikes who) and doing that action if it does! The dev of the game can go deeper into the mechanics than I can if he wants to respond, I'm just sending this in the meanwhile :D

Edit: Tiny note, if you're doing the zoom in thing I suggested it does hide the bottom right scroll that is the objective of the game.

Submitted (1 edit) (+2)

Thanks! I'll try again later today. I also noticed that playing on 200% hides the scroll for some reason but 175% was okay.

Edit: I managed to beat the game it was fun :D

Developer (1 edit)

To anyone who's played the game, the full screen somehow.. Broke? And I figured that the way you can read some of the text is to zoom in, or ctrl + scroll wheel! For anyone struggling with reading the text. Edit: I find 200% Zoom works best, and you can also use this to evade the double exit issue.

Developer(+1)

Yessss sorry, the ESC button to cancel dialogue would just exit fullscreen, so I opted to remove full screen functionality to see if it improved the experience at all by avoiding that outcome. Sorry for the inconvenience everyone.

Nice art and music, though the font is a bit hard to read sometimes

Good job ol' mates :D
