Loved the opening doors mechanic and the fact that you had to press down to stop. They both added a layer of difficulty. the art is also pretty nice as well as the audio. You know, usually im not really into platformers, but I liked this one :) Nice game!
I'm glad it can stand out from the genre like that, thank you!
A big plus for games whose mechanics can be understood without training. It also feels like the level design was done wisely.
Thanks for playing, I definitely wanted to keep things reasonably light in just straight info dumping with tutorials alright cause I hate that myself
In my opinion, the game stutters a bit; the gameplay isn't very smooth.
By the way, if you have time, please rate my game. I hope you enjoy it.
Thank you for your words, if I was to continue working on this I'd have a look at how to make the controls feel a bit more natural while maintaining the uniqueness of the mechanic for sure.
Cool idea! Last level was a bit hard to beat, but I did it! Really enjoyed this game :D
Thank you, and gz on beating it!
Hee-Ho. Interesting realization for 2d platformer. Nice idea
Thanks for playing, I feel truly hee-ho-nored by your words
I love how deeply the countdown was integrated here, and the levels are well designed. I think it maybe ramps up a little too quickly in difficulty - I found myself getting stuck very quickly - but that's a minor point, excellent work!
Looks cool, well done! Didn't expect to see so many mechanics tied to the countdown
Interesting mechanic with all the movements on a cooldown! It almost makes every action, even the most trivial like movement, feel strategic
Thanks for playing, exactly the feeling i was going for
Really enjoyed how you implemented the countdown mechanic here, good game! If you continue to polish this game it could become a great precision platformer like Celeste
Thanks for playing, and to even be tangentially related to Celeste is high praise, ty!
Man that last jump is brutal. Enjoyed the concept, the controls were a little annoying but i guess that was the point!
I think if left and right movement was controllable for the duration before the cooldown kicked in and if the jump had variable height from holding or not, it would have made it so that there was stress before your control ran out rather than it being a bit more single action (if that makes sense)
Overall was fun though and well rounded for a jam. Great job!
Funnily enough the stop was introduced because I thought that wobbling back and forth would be annoying, so noted about that! You're right about variable jump height though, once the time passed I did admittedly think man, why did I not have that in
I enjoyed playing it, and I liked the use of a cooldown system for your puzzles. I also appreciated some of the obstacles having countdowns for when their actions would start, as that helped me a ton in the last portion of the final level.
Thanks for playing, glad the timers helped, I was back and forth on keeping them in or not
I can get your little twist on the control to make it a bit puzzle like. Very interesting, but I'm just really bad at it...
Thanks for playing! It does take some getting used to, and I tried to have a certain level of difficulty to it to really get people to learn the mechanics
Pretty interesting concept. The controls are a little cumbersome, but I could actually kind of get into the rhythm of movement by the end. That final level is really tough, though!
Thanks for playing! Originally it was too easy, I may have pushed it too far the other way alright!
