If you have implemented the modifier, how have you done so?
Once that timer runs out, you're delivering whether you like it or not.

Any additional information for voters?
Depending on how much trouble you have with the controls you may end up producing some SBIG clothes.

Oops, I probably should have cut the back of their clothes as well!

My last game to review and definitely not the least! Had a really fun time with this one!   Honestly it was very well presented and had a unique gameplay style to it. After getting the hang of it, (and getting more accurate with my space press timings!)   I got a  score of $665 on normal difficulty in the end!

Loved all the different reactions to each grade (had to "deliberately" get some really bad scores to see them all!). The final showcase in the credits was such a nice touch as well!

Really well presented and  such a creative use of the modifier! Big well done!

I've been wanting to play this one for a while and I was not dissappointed - This was really fun and challenging - Got to the end and scored $574

I was confused at first, but having to do precise cuts using the shear (pun intended) clunkiness of controls was somehow super entertaining (Though I'd normally prefer push-to-cut instead of a toggle). It is so easy to screw up too, I ended up cutting everything out but the single section I wanted to cut out - Or even just everything

I absolutely love the bizarre, weird shaped characters (which secretly also own bakeries) - I even got caught off guard when I saw their buttery smooth animations, and their F-rank reaction is the cherry on top.

The game is generally super polished too - the artstyle has great consistency and so does the sound design.

Overall, I love this stuff! Great job!

Took me way too long to figure out what you meant by "bakeries." 🤣 I appreciate the indepth feedback, now I feel slightly embarrassed having left a joke comment on yours. Thanks for noticing the details, the sound design ended up being quite important for gamefeel and entertainment value. With the animations I wanted to get a good level of expressiveness in a limited amount of time, so I instructed my brother to add in these exaggerated mouths and eyebrows and drove the motions using fairly simple vertex shader techniques. Only thing I wish I'd had time for was particle effects!

If I ever expand on this I'll be sure to add push-to-cut :)

Had a good time with this one. The gameplay was simple, but challenging. The characters were done well, had a real claymation type feel to them. Fit the gameplay well. Did pretty good until the final pattern. The failure noise caught me off guard, but not as much as the panned shot from the "other" side of the stage. Gave me a chuckle. Very good entry, very SBIG.

Developer

Thank you! Claymation is spot on, I took great pains to preserve the characters' lumpiness

This was amazing! Exactly the kind of fun unique and janky game I like to see in SBIG!

The sound, music and art are all SBIG perfect, and I really love the cursed claymation characters. And the F result scream is hysterical lmao.

I completely sucked at the mechanics of cutting, but the mechanics themselves suck just the right amount, and since sucking doesn't block progress it just makes you want to get wacky with it or thematically throw up your hands and say "good enough!". I don't think I'd want the cutting to be any more or less janky than it currently is, its just controllable enough to get some intentional shape but not enough to cut out a trapezoid, perfectly clunky!

Excellent work!

It's so wonderful to hear you played that way, I was hoping for exactly that :') Very pleased it hit that sweet spot of jank

Peak SBiG right here. I loved the goofy ahh 3D models and the weirdly challenging gameplay.

I was wondering why there aren't more games about cutting out shapes when I started development. Turns out it's actually very weird and complicated as a mechanic

I cannot reply to this in a way that would meaningfully enhance it

It's super fun! 5 stars just for the reaction to a bad result! Great job on the difficulty progression!

Developer

Thank you, I enjoy imagining the dread of first time players as the patters get more and more complicated

I’m rich! $591 sbiggy dollars!
Before I figured out how the scissors worked, I kept deleting the entire cloth and getting an F, but this game makes failing fun! The animations and sound effects are so funny!
Also the credits sequence is great!

Developer

I swear I replied to this but Itch ate it </3  I wanted it to be a very funny experience overall, the fact that failing is fun would seem to imply I succeeded :) Glad you enjoyed!

The sweetness of the moment when, with 10 seconds left, I cut off exactly the opposite of what was needed — that's the true sweetness of shipping no matter what. I liked the character design so much, now I need cupcake molds with these guys!

Developer(+1)

Glad you had the TRUE "just ship it" experience. I question the structural integrity of some of these cupcakes

This might be my favourite so far.  I love how sexy the naked people are.

Developer

TYSM! I'm sure you found the credits most gratifying ,':)

I feel like it's the most SBIG game of them all

Developer

Oh thank god, I was worried it wasn't bad and/or good enough

Aggressively SBIGcore. Outstanding work.

I made $410! if only i could be so luxuriously wealthy in real life...

I'll chip in exactly that much for the development of Rods of God 2: Cylinders of Satan

The idea and modifier implementation are very clever. The gameplay is fun. It took me a bit to figure out that the arrow shows the part that will be cutten down, so i've ended up with some gorgeous clothes. Graphics are... just perfect

Developer

Glad you enjoyed. The game would definitely benefit from a more dedicated tutorial section, but letting the player screw up catastrophically a few times is perfectly on theme >:)

I loved the gameplay here, and the style is perfect for SBIG Jam. The credits sequence was the icing on the cake. I'm on the fence about whether the modifier implementation is clever or too clever, though.

Two QoL issues with the initial build: the menu looks like it should be clickable, but isn't, and the game is shrunk to a smaller area than the frame on the page.

Developer

Thank you! I will not confirm or deny whether the game is just an elaborate excuse for the credits sequence. If the pun is too much for you, you can take the more straightforward interpretation of having to ship hastily chopped-up clothes.

I didn't see the game shrink on my desktop but my friend did on their laptop, I think it might be specific to 4K monitors? I'll have to look into it 🤔
