The potion is diabolical and a great twist the players should see coming. The spider and rat men encounters feel tilted towards combat which makes sense, but I wonder what else the sewers hold. I like the old school sensibilities and layout. Good work.

Thanks!!! I had fun with this one, but I'll admit that the title I was given made me stop and think. A lot.

This definitely feels like a Cyberpunk adventure. Approved!

Thank you!

This little, twisty module sets out with a rather funny evil idea and a maybe not so funny for the consumer magic potion. Can’t get more classic than a city sewer crawl.

I don’t mind the rather deadliness of the potion. What I don’t like is the open end in the sewers, where players don’t get a clear signal that nothings to be had down there and the DM has do come up with content till they give up.

Any ideas how you would approach that? I was struggling to fit in what I did, but I'll admit that I often focus more on presenting a storyline than stressing over things I feel can be left to GM interpretation. I'd love any suggestions you can make.

Perhaps we’re not talking about the same thing. I mean the literal open end in the north of the map. Just putting a wall, a sewer waterfall, rubble ob dubious matter there would do the trick.

This feels like a classic adventure (PCs getting approached in tavern, exploring sewers, fighting rats) with some fun add-ons. Great for a one-shot. In my opinion this ranks high in terms of gameability because you clearly tell the GM what's going on and provide some descriptions they can just read.

Thanks! I am never completely confident in my skill at adventure writing, so comments like this make me quite happy. Thank you!

Which ending to choose!? Cool little twist at the end.

Developer

Thank you. I thought there would be a chance the PCs would never use a potion, so I wanted to address that for the GM (just in case it was needed).

Fun concept here with a very tight and usable little sewer area!

A few favorite things:

  • Fun voice and useful boxed text to introduce the rooms
  • The ratfolk demonstrating the potion (if undisturbed)
  • The Elixir of Destructive Egress is a very fun idea

A few specific thoughts. Kospharnos's seems to have conflicting motivations. His aim is either to send the party in to recover a stolen elixir/discover the results, or to have them unwittingly become new test subjects. It reads like he's trying to do both, which doesn't make sense to me.

The elixir's effects could be simpler. 1d4 + 2d4 rounds of delay is arbitrarily long and complicates the ratfolk demonstration. If the delay is part of the fun (which it is), keep 1d4. Likewise, 3d20 damage and another 3d20 damage if they aren't dead? Just say: they explode and...are therefore dead (similar to "...as is proven by the fact that he is now a corpse." :)).

"Until I perfect the coloring, I can't sell them." An excellent ruse!

Thank you for taking time to write up your thoughts. I had fun writing it, and I can't fully remember some of my reasoning behind the villain's motivation. I know I had something in mind, but it is lost to the past.

"'Until I perfect the coloring, I can't sell them.' An excellent ruse!"

Thanks! I am pretty sure I giggled when I first thought of that.

For a fantasy mini adventure, this was very solid. My eyes had a good time reading the formatting and layout, and I like the funny gimmick the potion had. My only wish is to make the whole thing weirder and closer to the spirit of Appendix N, but other than that, I could see myself using this adventure as an supplement. Kudos!
