You're right that it's a bit slower compared to standard idle/incremental games. That's actually by design. It's meant to be a more cozy, relaxed experience rather than a fast-paced clicker.
That said, leveling up "Essence Per Tile" early on definitely helps speed things up to get the snowball rolling!
