Summarize your game!
the name is price of progress, in this game you are a mayor who runs the city, it kinda forces player to do bad stuff with 2 systems. 1. bad stuff simply give more money 2. the mayor have to consider more than just long term gains, but short term gains too, for if you dont fulfill the campaign promises you wont get elected next term. but being good is still doable tho, just lessor score. i design the bad buildings to be simple and op, whereas the good ones needs alots of planning and stuff.
Please explain how your game fits the theme.
its about the price you pay for the high technology and stuff , to turn a nice place into a city of cyberks. to sacrifice welfare for more gold, and the game encurrages that
Did you use Generative AI to make any assets in your game?
no

A nice concept, and a chill game. Great music and SFX.
I feel the tutorial could use a little polish, it ended abruptly before I felt I had a good handle on the game mechanics.
Gameplay wise, it is very easy to get a snowball of money that really makes completing the game quite trivial. I think objectives should be based on the board you currently have, meaning if you overextend early you end up having a harder time because you run out of space.
I liked the events system, but overall there was a clear good option and a clear bad option. I feel these should be a "Choose the best out of 2 bad options" would both help to reinforce the theme and be more realistic.
Overall though I really enjoyed this. Great job!
glad u liked it bro :D
I really like the game.
It's awesome when my buildings change textures after passing some tech level.
Btw one of the two best games I've played in this jam so far (I already rated 20 of them).
PS.
GDD kinda sucks tho great work overall ;)
Glad u liked it! and almost everyone mentions the GDD ahahahha. i have never encountered such requirements and really just placed the process of the brain storming onto it and forgot all about it QAQ
I really enjoyed it! I did a good playthrough and an evil playthrough but in the evil one because I was too reckless with the welfare and actually lost
The game was a little confusing at first with the sort of vague writing style in the tutorial, but once you get started it’s easy to figure out especially with the in game descriptions.
The presentation was expertly done. The UI, the fonts, the graphics, and audio were beautifully put together and is what hooked me in the beginning.
I think the best part of the game was reading all the choices that would pop up because of how much life they added to the world. The goals each term were so easy that I didn’t really think about them at all. I only wish that the decisions I had to make felt more impactful than they did. Maybe it’s the gameplay balance that makes them feel this way, or maybe there just aren’t enough mechanics to get more creative with the consequences.
Either way, the game is very good and extremely polished in its current state which is not something I can say about your GDD lol
glad u liked it, the depth of strats can go pretty deep as the best i can get doing good will be 200k and bad will be around 350k. i will check on ur feedbacks again when i decide to put more work into this game, i might put more work onto the campaign promises to kinda force good players to do bad stuff from time to time etc.
and about the GDD.. yeah, i just throw all my brain storming process into it and completely forgot about it lol
Awesome game. I wish there were a few more buildings to choose from. It was quite easy to get a 20 year term if you chose the good paths, like green stuff and clean energy things . So having a difficulty setitng would be nice where it limits you with an x amount of x bulidings. Other than that, I really enjoyed the game!
glad u liked it bud, and yeah, its never hard to get to year 20 regardless. being good is hard in the description means you cant really chase a very high score in that play style. and yeah, i will add more buildings if i encounter a polishing jam ahahahah, im just doing full couch boy style rn.
