Really nice progression of puzzles. I really liked the deranged Boyhowdy too.
Very cool art style, the presentation here was top notch! Very cool puzzle mechanics, really liked how Warriors of Encouragevar lived up to their namesake.
Not sure if I broke the game the first time through? I accepted Boyhowdy's recommendation at the start, and only recruited Arturo and Yazmody, then when mashing my way through the battle and completely belly laughing at the Wrath of Bowhowdy, halfway through the second go Zingledinger chimed in about thanking me for destroying translucent gold and then I won?
I played it a second time declining Boyhowdy (holy moly that's a scary looking puffin lmao), this time I did the rest of the puzzles, recruited everyone, shattered Zingledinger's dreams of touching the translucent gold. He didn't chime in for the battle this time, I had to fully deplete both lifebars to win.
In any case, very fun writing that had me laughing a lot, great puzzles using the various mechanics (I actually completely forgot about the lasso first time through, it was very valuable for the later puzzles). Super fun game!
Thank you for your kind words! You are quite good at mashing lol (I can't beat the first health bar without all four encouragements). But yeah I just looked and it is indeed bugged. Uploaded a new version that fixes Zingeldinger chiming in if you never went to speak to him (whoops). I'm clueless as to why he didn't trigger the second time around though...
Nice spin to the block pushing mechanics with the gun and lasso. The models of the warriors look great!
Wow! Really really cool game! The retro style looks sooo good here! I also really like your cutscenes and how you used Boy Howdy was hilarious! In fact, your game is so stylish all around! Super well done!
I really liked the presentation of this game. You managed to hit a bull's-eye capturing the style of what I believe was 70's era western shows. The mechanics of the puzzles were fun, since it is basically like using strength in Pokemon, but with an interesting dynamic added to it. I have to say though, my left hand feels kind of sore after completing the game lol. Since you don't really need to use the mouse, it might have be better to split the control between both hands. Also... did Zingel Dinger just murked that dog?
The crunchy Windows 95 textures and blocky characters are such a killer visual design. The gun/lasso mechanics are a great addition to a sokoban, too!
The story and dialogue were really funny!~
Great puzzles! Block mechanics remind me of the fun ascii game Beast.
A clever and funny game! I really like the lasso mechanic as it solves the common sokoban issue of getting blocks stuck on walls. You used the mechanics well to make some good puzzle rooms. The environments, characters, and sound scape are all really nice, too.
The slime battle was pretty confusing for me. I tried clicking the buttons which didn't do anything. Only by looking at the comments here did I realize you have to press E to attack.
Yeah sorry about that... honestly literally every playtester tried to do the same thing; I probably should've changed it based on those but never got round to it. Glad you liked it though :)
The way the block pushing mechanics built on each other with each new ability was impressive. Your usage of encouragement as a mechanic was a really smart touch.
Thank you! I wanted to do a fifth level to bring them all together, but ran out of time :((
Cool game! Felt responsive, cool art style, and some clever puzzles. I think I got the bad ending though, cause I accidentally shot something near the end and couldn't seem to progress. I've never pressed the "E" key so hard and fast in my life! Though I don't think that was the intention.
thanks! that's weird though... there's only one ending. I think maybe if you are too good at mashing you can skip past an important scene 😭
I didn't realise you meant the game froze when you meant you got the bad ending, sorry. I think I have removed this ending from the game now. For the record, you were meant to shoot what you shot, and this was indeed a bug.
Excellent game! I loved the feeling and the vibe. The writing made me laugh out loud several times.
