"Not enough stars... Stranger", Anxiety dream apparently led me to dream about the Merchant, A nice incremental game, the progression seem appropriate. And the story is nice.
haha you noticed the reference! I had it as a debug printout inside the code and then decided to let it as a feedback to the player!
Really glad you liked the game and the story! Thank you for playing and giving feedback! Have a nice jam!
Ngl this is some seriously UNIQUE Gameplay! Cool art and mechanics! 10/10!!๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ
Thanks for playing the game and for leaving a comment!
I highly appreciate your kind words!
Have a nice day!
Fun incremental style game, especially with a good payoff for progression using the letters! I enjoyed the color scheme used and how cozy everything felt, alongside the relaxing music. I have two pieces of feedback:
1) The upgrade menu could be more responsive. Maybe have visual indicators for upgrades that have already been bought, and have the text underneath change on hover (rather than the current system where it is stuck to the message it was at the last click)
2) A bit more animation work on the background (like the clouds moving) would add a lot of juice and gamefeel for me personally
Beyond that, I had a great time with this project. Good job!!
Thank you for playing the game and for the honest feedback!
I also agree to all your comments!
I thought UI work would be easy but I was so wrong! Thinking I could go through the menu fast, I left it for the last few days... I started thinking how it was going to be implemented and I was stuck! What the correct design would be? How to convey the upgrades? How to structure the code? The fruits of my labor? This! Let's just say that I have more respect for UI designers/artists after this game!
About the animation, you are also correct but because the time was ticking I had to leave it as is. Also my animating skills are a bit low and with the 2 color palette I was afraid of any background movement.
Have a nice day!
I really like the background imagery. The colors feel right for a dream or sleep. I also enjoyed the upgrade system. I am thinking that the countdown exists to create a small dose of anxiety maybe? The physics enhance this feeling, as it gets a bit ricky to move the way you want all the time. I don't really think it neeeded a story, but it's nice game.
Thanks for the kind words Newfis! I added the countdown so that there is the feeling of progression as the player collects stars. Also it adds to the whole "can't sleep well" concept I am trying to convey. I added the story as a reward for collecting the stars and as game milestones, something to keep the player engaged a while longer. Thanks again for playing the game and for the feedback!!!
A cute little game! I love the colors you chose and the art is very nice! I quite enjoyed playing through this :]
Thank you for the comment! Love that you liked it!

Thank you very much for your kind words! Have a nice day!
