The game matches up with the theme perfectly, and I really liked your art style. Great job!
Hello All! I put a notice in the comments about the interactable progress bars, I completely missed this by accident and have turned them off in the next patch build. Until the jam ends I put a notice up about it. Hope it helps you all!!
cute ^^
and confusing~
Im'm so bleedy for these things! So sweet and I really wanted to protect the kid! Managed first try so Im proud! No sad kids here no no!
You hit the theme spot on and the art is so cute! The Audio for the game itself was nice, but the high pitch of the dialoge hurt my ear a little so had to lower my audio, but the rest was good! The sound of them being distressed felt accurate!
I might replace the sfx for the LBL system cause it was hurting my ears aswell. But I’m glad you liked it. Thanks for playing!
Nice & Wholesome story driven game, I feel "shop" could be named something else to stick with theme and be more clear
I’ll see what I can do. Thanks for playing!
Good aesthetic! When I reached the end and it said “you smiled,” I actually smiled hahaha. Such a good concept! I know it’s probably hard to turn this idea into gameplay, but you did it really well.
I think limiting the teddy bear to a certain number of uses, like 3 times, could add more tension and action to the game, since right now the teddy bear feels a bit overpowered.
I see, Thats a shout! Thank you for playing!
I liked the graphics and sounds, but I didn't really understand the mechanics. As I understand it, you need to maintain the meter using items. But why buy items if I can move it with the cursor? Is that how it's supposed to be?
Hi! thank you, could you give a bit more clarity as to why? I can understand if it can be interactable if I drag and drop an item onto the child sprite then deducting the cost. If not then I can also understand the button hovers not being perfect. I’m also going to update the help menu with visual gifs of the gameplay instead of having it wordy to reflect on the lack of clarity of learning the controls of the game. thank you for letting me know.
In the game, you can move the meter left and right with the cursor. If it's completely to the left, the player loses. But what are items for then? As far as I understand, they're supposed to restore the meter. I hope I've helped.
No it is not supposed to do that, I completely missed that and I apologise for the error. I can’t patch until the voting ends. but its best to avoid touching the bar completley. I’ll make note of it on the page if i can aswell.
Very cute concept for the theme! I do wish there was a little more variety with the nightmares as the other comment said. I wasn't sure why sometimes certain items would work and others wouldn't. Was there an indication to this? I just kind of bought all of them until the meter went down. I thought the art style was cute and I think you did an excellent job on thinking outside the box on how to incorporate the theme. Well done overall, thanks for making and sharing it :)
Hi! if you are reffering to items being bought and then having the affect be active when you try and press the other item buttons. You won’t be able to get some as there is a cool down for how long the affect is in place before you can buy another item. In future practice I can maybe shorten the cooldown. I had a lot of teething issues with unity during this jam. If not, I can maybe do some digging as I plan to patch the game after judges are done. Hope this helps! :))
This was good! I felt like there could've been more varieties on the nightmares or maybe even the shop, like rather than just background changes. Nonetheless, the game is flawless and well-polished, great one!
Thank you for the insight! Maybe I can implement some more visual output in terms of the nightmare visual E.G having a animation of the child receiving the item in their dream to defeat the nightmare. Definitely something to look into when I patch the game after judgement ends.
This was a lovely little game! I really liked the visuals for it and the shop system was a really interesting mechanic!
