Something I don't understand about some developpers

I saw some developpers making small games and getting no view or comments, suddently they do get some attention with people praising their work and asking for things, and the devs delete all comments...

Is there a logic behind this? You get no attention at all and the minute you do you censor everyone

Probably due to criticism, even if 80-90% of the feedback is positive, some people cant handle the 10-20% that is not.

usually it's better to address criticism than to run away from it.

Too much attention can be a burden, even if it’s positive. Remember what happened to the creator of Flappy Bird?

What happened to the creator of Flappy Bird?

He took down the game and hid himself from the internet after it turned out to be 1) a huge success and 2) pretty damn addictive.

Oh, no. I’d wondered why I had only see fan remakes, not the original game. I hope the developer is out there somewhere, doing okay.

Personally, I honestly don't get it.

To me, any feedback that helps you improve the game is positive, especially comments that are critical in some way and can help you spot flaws you hadn't noticed yourself.

If the comments are offensive, that's a different story—in that case, I understand why they're deleted.

Othe reasons:

  • Some developers create a new page for a new release instead of updating their existing page - which is a bad thing to do - but I've seen it happen. Obviously then they lose all the comments and followers.
  • They might also accidentally do it - like if they wanted to change to a forum but then changed their minds.
  • The game was fully written by AI and the developer cannot implement any changes or fixes because they don't' know how to - so instead they remove the comments.
  • The game was stolen or reverse engineered and the developer cannot implement any changes or fixes because they don't know how to - so instead they remove the comments.
  • The game was stolen but the developer doesn't want to disable comments because that is suspicious - so they delete the comments.

i never though of that before, that might be it
