Yeah I am certainly eager to see the other dungeon types since I know they're out there! Mainly a case of still getting into the early game, and losing characters to either crashes or giving up on them due to the perma-stat loss issue, which should hopefully be resolved now.

And yeah I fired up my save under the new version yesterday and it appears to work fine! In fact, I'd be streaming it right now if I hadn't gotten sick :( (will have to wait until at least next week I guess... we'll see)

I've actually barely played past the first dungeon myself during a normal run. It used to be much harder so I used to die there all the time. It's a shame there were still wrinkles in the load/save system. Hammering those out will be a top priority in the coming weeks. I'm glad you were able to resume your game at least. I'm out of town for the weekend, so it's actually convenient for me that the next stream is delayed.

Still sick, but planning to get back to it. I had actually been playing on my own in the meantime, exploring the overworld and other towns which was fun (I've written about it elsewhere for folks), but to be honest I stopped more recently because even the latest versions have a pretty serious problem with desyncing world locations potentially ruining lots of progress... Resolving those issues which really mess up long runs should probably be priority #1 at the moment. (Also have other notes and feedback to give during next stream.)

Last night on my debug build I was moving around the world and just going up and down staircases, saving and reloading occasionally, to try to recreate the bug, but I couldn't get it to happen. This weekend I want to write a new test that will do the same thing automatically, and then just leave it running until something breaks.

I've also tried actually deleting level files when I was on a different level in game, and I do get the same result that the portals can't relink if a level is regenerated. I'll try to at least get that to work.

If you still have save files where this has happened, can you please send so I can study what happened? I might be able to get the areas unblocked too.

Great to see you're working on this, and using an automated test to help find issues more quickly is a good idea. Should hopefully be resolved in no time in that case :)

I tested one of my saves on both 0.2.9 and 0.2.10 and the same area was broken both times, even when approaching the problem area from further away, but I guess it hadn't been fixed by then. Awaiting 0.2.11!
