Ever since I printed the submissions out and sorted through them, I was looking forward to this entry. Something spoke to me directly (perhaps that old picture known from a family Bible? Perhaps the title)

It’s a great location with a quite harsh but ultimately fitting mechanic. Everything fits together: tone, locations, visions, the queen. Good mix of crawling and intense role-play. I think one could take a player out of the game and noone would even be mad about it.

It’s nice you picked up the old story from The Book without overplaying it.

Really great entry.

My only concern is, that the backstory is a bit to opaque. I, with the full knowledge of the module, am a bit struggling what the Queen’s deal is. Players will have an even harder time. Could you please write up two, three sentences I put on a Post-it and store in my printout? :)

Hi thanks for the comment, truly appreciate it. Fully understand with the last comment, really went full on with the location but didnt want to put too much in the backstory, to keep the mystery of it. Maybe not the best for the GM though as you comment yourself. Without trying to reference the bible inspiration too much, the queen's deal is that while the city was turning to salt, she looked back to see her daughters safely away. There was no attempt to defy anyone or anything, but just this and her turning to salt, the city's fall turned that act of love into her prison. She is not evil, nor hostile, and she'll trade with anyone who reaches her, offering to lift their own curse in exchange for a memory, because trading is the only kind of leaving she has left. Hoping this clears it out a bit.

If ever you do run this module, would love to hear about how it went !
