Very nice lil game! I like how your study of rpg classes came through. Zerac being the only one straight up ineffective against a certain enemy is too bad for them... but that's the cost of having low-cost damaging skill and a self heal in a game like this 🫵
Popolli's skillset got me to think. Well. Mainly Bone. Mid-battle, I was thinking "Huh. this is a pretty bad heal. Maybe it also heals ailments or something?" Only to see it can be used outside of battle. I like the idea of a low cost, low value heal that's questionable mid-battle, but invaluable in a test of endurance like this game. Sure there's an infinite heal point, but did you push yourself too far through a floor and only *now* realize you should try and make it back? How much MP does Popolli have to do that? Can you make it? ...Taking notes on this type of skill/skillset. Also i like the reflex hammer as a weapon for someone working with muscle tissue.
Froak isnt doing much on the surface, but their large defense adds a nice new layer. Combined with being the only one able to deal damage to every enemy type for free, they were a reliable ally.
I was worried about Ultigoon's MP during the final/carpet floor... Those skills were really handy against the enemies there, so I had to keep using them. Dynamite against the big knight especially, to let Popolli maintain as much MP for Bone as possible, without getting so lost in the hypothetical Bone usage that we lose more HP/MP compared to using a Spinal Cord to end the fight faster. Anyway, then I reached the end of the floor, prepared to struggle through the last stand with what resources I had... Ultigoon only had 10 MP, so... Oh! There's no big final test!
So that was a nice sigh of relief. I actually feel completely neutral about that. Like whether there would be a final boss or not, the challenge up to the point already felt like enough of a mini journey to feel like I accomplished what I set out to do.
It seems I didn't find any of those MP Restoring items.
But now I'm gonna look into that Surging Aura game you mentioned. Nice work, again!
