๐Ÿ”ซ๐Ÿ‘ฝ YOOO, THIS IS ACTUALLY A PRETTY GOOD SHOOTING GAME!

The environment and atmosphere are really nice, and the whole โ€œIGI but in spaceโ€ feeling ๐Ÿ˜‚ works surprisingly well. The shooting, aliens, and bomb objective make it a fun little action experience.

My main issue is that it doesn't feel very connected to the STARGAZING theme. It feels more like a space/alien invasion shooter where the stars are mostly just part of the setting. ๐ŸŒŒ Maybe making the player discover the aliens by stargazing, or having the sky/stars play a role in the missions, could connect it much stronger.

Also, one important thing for a game jam: the build is 618 MB, which is pretty large for a jam game. ๐Ÿ˜… If you can optimize/compress the build and bring it down closer to 100 MB or so, it would be much more convenient for people to download and try your game, especially players with slower internet.

Still, 16 hours and an Unreal project with this much environment and gameplay is a solid effort! ๐Ÿ‘ The bugs are also kinda hilarious ๐Ÿ˜‚.

Good work and good luck with your future games! ๐ŸŽฎ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Next time, definitely try to make the jam theme more central to the gameplay and keep the build size as small as possible.

And if you have some free time, please play my game too and leave me a review! ๐Ÿ™โค๏ธ

Good game, but it has quite a lot of bugs. When I killed an enemy, they started flying around, haha! I also reached a dead end in the lab, and I donโ€™t know if there was supposed to be anything beyond that. That said, itโ€™s still a good game overall!

i actually intenaly left the flying around bug in because of how funny it looks

in the lab you should be able to place some c4 on a blue engine that should open the next area

thanks for the feedback!

Itโ€™s definitely an interesting Unreal Engine demo, but I don't really see the jam theme in it, and there's a slight lack of a creative touch.

Still, I appreciate the effort and I'm impressed by some of the mechanics delivered in such a short amount of time :)

Developer

there was originally going to be an intro sequence explaining how everyone was looking to the stars to find alien life but in result they attacked

i wasn't able to find the time to make it though

thanks for the feedback though!

The casings are bigger than I expected, so at first I thought they were items. The gun animation when shooting feels a bit weak; adding muzzle flashes or sparks as a particle system could make it more impactful. Overall, the game has a great environment and atmosphere
