Well, for me, this is basically a 10/10 when it comes to this jam. It's a really cool mishmash of an incremental game and pinball-style gameplay. I played it for about 20 - 30 minutes non-stop and honestly have no idea where the time went.

If I could drop a few ideas alongside the praise, it might be cool to add some more variety to the asteroids - similar to how pinball has different shapes and extra bouncy elements. That could enhance the theme/fantasy a bit. Also, the transition between the main scene and Earth got a little annoying after a while. It looked great, but making it a bit faster would be awesome if you decide to take the game further.

Overall, this was a super nice experience. There’s definitely potential here to expand the game and maybe even release it! :)

I also think there is some kind of potential for some small full game. I should add some quick sfx at least (those make so much difference). Thank you a lot for playing and giving nice and thoughtful feedback :)

Yea, randomness was really hard to balance and I agree 100%. I was trying to make it a little bit hard but not annoying at the same time. So now it is really simple for some people and really bad for others (with worse luck :D).

Maybe some kind of additional "active" skills could help a little bit with that or just more decision making of some kind, so player could feel like he have more control over it.

Thanks for playing! :)

I'll reply here since there's no point in scattering this across 3 different channels.

  1. All 3 games in this jam look similar and rely HEAVILY on AI.
  2. All 3 games from these accounts were uploaded within 30 minutes of each other (Starglass: 19:25, The sky blinked: 19:10, Starthread: 19:05).
  3. All 3 accounts participated in this exact jam and in one other specific jam (Micro Jam 063: Prehistoric ($600+ PRIZES))—both of these jams have a cash prize. Those are pretty much the only stuff those accounts posted on.
  4. In that second jam, all 3 accounts also submitted their games around the same time (23:56, 00:23, 00:36).
  5. All accounts commented on each other's games as their very first comment.
  6. All games follow the exact same format/patterns in their game descriptions.

A single coincidence could be brushed off as luck, but participating in the same 2 jams, uploading at the same time in both, leaving comments for each other, using the exact same description format, and having the same overall game vibe is just pure STUPIDITY and a clumsy attempt to flood the game jam with AI slop, ruining the fun for everyone else. Tell me more how you loved to work on those games for 80+ hours....

Bravo...

Well, someone is crazy good blacksmith :D

Thanks for playing. I agree with all the feedback. Theme is for sure not greatly incorporated. I had some prototypes where you catch stars and use them to forge, but I was trying to simplify game and maybe overdone it a little bit :D

There is a lot of room for expanding it. That's for sure.

About sound and music. Once again I agree, it would 10x improve juice and engagement.  I work a full-time job and didn't really have the time, so I'm putting the blame on life :D

Thanks!

Pretty fun puzzle. Not amazingly attached to theme to be honest, but pretty fun and well executed. Good job!

I am sorry but it feels like 3 AI sloppy games (starthread, starglass and this) were created by same person. Even all of them have first comment from each other.

At first I didn't want to be mean, but when I saw all 3 games and connected dots I don't really know why anyone would do something like this... go create some games, have fun with it. Give others some feedback. It's a great feeling to make something (even pretty sh..ty :)).

Gameplay / Fun / Engagement

Simple, but very pleasing. Nice work. It would be probably hard to take it further but it shows that it is perfect scope for jam game. It also gives some cozy vibes. Which is great.

Creativity / Experiment

It is nice twist on some other entries when you literally look at stars. Not crazy inventive but cool.

Art Style / Visuals

Art is great. 5/5

Audio / Sound Design

"star picking" is very satisfying. Great SFX.

Theme

Well... 10/10

I don't know....

Its second game that is 99% created by AI and maybe it has a little bit of human touch to it. Yea sure it looks cool but at the same time I quickly get detached from it.

And it's weird how looks of it and description is very similar to "Starglass" by bosniakk....

"Roughly how much time did you spend developing? (in hours)
83.2142"
...?

I will just start with one major downside (sorry). It gives me hella AI vibe-coded vibes. Like I don't mind creating stuff with AI (using some AI help myself), but the looks of it, how things are placed, fonts etc. it looks 99% generated. It looks like Claude Code Arifact 1:1.

I really hope there were something more than just clicking "Yes, generate more". At the end of the day it is jam and it is fun to learn something and help each other improve :)

Gameplay / Fun / Engagement

The gameplay is pretty impressive for jam game. Liked it alot.

Creativity / Experiment

Gameplay is simple, but it is very theme driven. Not amazingly experimental, but it is fine.

Art Style / Visuals

Visuals are neat, very clean, simple. Like it a lot. Gold looks great.

Audio / Sound Design

There is some simple sound, so it fine

Theme

Well, its great. Stargazing at its finest. 10/10

Gameplay / Fun / Engagement

- Simple, known formula for creating stories. It is not amazingly engaging but some people might appreciate simplicity.

Creativity / Experiment

- Not a lot of creativity, just old simple game coated with a little bit of star theme

Art Style / Visuals

- charming

Audio / Sound Design

- charming

Theme

- I think this kind of gameplay can be attach to a lot of themes, so I am not sure if gameplay utilizes theme enough

Good effort. Simply making and finishing game is hard work, so good job. I hope we will see some more in future jams.

It looks like a bit of scope creep snuck in :D

Nice visual with the planet and the character, but there’s not much actual gameplay. Maybe something a little simpler next time? Either way, great job shipping the game! It's definitely not an easy task.

I'm gonna be honest. I didn't really knew how to play it. Some quick "How to play" in description would be nice. Good work on creating game for a jam and finishing it nonetheless.

100% agree I was feeling similar. It would be nice to add more juice and a little bit more straight forward or more engaging game loop. Clicking buttons is not really that engaging. At first I wanted to add 3D dice rolls and drag droping stones like in MMORPG games but at my current level it was hard to achieve :D

Thanks for playing!

Thank you. I've added quick "How to play" in description. Maybe it will help a little bit

Gameplay / Fun / Engagement

- Interesting gameplay, but gets kinda boring quickly. Maybe a little bit of helping hand would be nice. For example some UI with constellations that I should look for etc. Something to engage me and not leave me in just a sandbox mode :) Nonethless it could be chill for some people.

Creativity / Experiment

- Not amazingly creative, but pretty well executed and it is just just another platformer so... alright

Art Style / Visuals

- Simple, yet effective

Audio / Sound Design

- Simple, yet effective

Theme

- Well, it is simply stargazing in its core. So 10/10 :D

Yeah, no problem. I will just add that if you take it further you probably can just ignore my comment about theme. Full game does not need to follow jam theme strictly. Camping vibes were strong with fishing and stuff :)

(1 edit)

Still, it's a great game (one of the best in whole jam for sure), so I wouldn't worry about my nitpicking :D Great job!

It’s definitely an interesting Unreal Engine demo, but I don't really see the jam theme in it, and there's a slight lack of a creative touch.

Still, I appreciate the effort and I'm impressed by some of the mechanics delivered in such a short amount of time :)

A simple, well executed platformer, but it just barely touches on the theme. A cool project to start out with—keep it up! :)

Kinda shame there is no web version :(

The graphics are great, and the vibe and music are awesome as well. It's a very interesting concept and a cool blend of a platformer with puzzle elements. Overall, a fantastic game :)

In my opinion, the game lacks a strong connection to the theme. Overall, it's a pretty interesting concept. It might also feel a bit better if we could move a little faster. On the downside, I managed to accidentally bug the game, but that's fairly typical for a jam.

On the plus side, it has a cool ambient soundtrack, as well as interesting abilities and FX.

An interesting concept, and it definitely fulfills the fantasy of shooting a laser, which is a big plus :D The theme fits well, too. Another plus for being in 3D—it's the first 3D game I've come across while rating so far. A slight minus for the sound effects, which were borderline annoying (though my own game didn't even have music...).

It would be interesting to see it more polished :)

A simple game with a somewhat uncreative approach to the theme, but I appreciate that the gameplay is easy to grasp, letting you jump in and enjoy the game right away.

I'm not entirely convinced by the mechanic where I have to wait for the hook to rotate on its own. It might have been more interesting to be able to control it—just hitting the target with the hook from a long distance is hard enough as it is.

The game is extremely polished for a jam (damn, it even has credits and playable guitar!). To some extent, that's probably thanks to the 7-person team, but huge props are due regardless :)

It has a very pleasant vibe. The music is awesome, and the pixel art is super charming. The story itself is also nicely written (ending was sad).

To be completely honest, I felt it lacked a slightly tighter connection to the theme. Camping is technically related, but the main fishing mechanic felt a bit disconnected to me.

....and just when I was about to stop playing, it turned out there was gameplay related to constellations after all.

If I were to change anything, I’d probably start by having the player search for constellations first and then go fishing. That would tie into the theme a bit faster and then just show cozy camping vibes. Also one small minus because it is maybe third game in this jam that has some sad story about family and stars so it kind repetitive, but overall the game is great and I’m just nitpicking a little :)

A very simple concept and quite satisfying. It definitely fits the theme 100%. It’s a bit of a shame that it isn't a puzzle-type game where you search for constellations and rotate them to actually fit something—that might have been an interesting direction as well. The visuals are cool and there seems to be a lot of them, which is nice. The gameplay itself requires virtually no explanation, so big props for that.

It's hard for me to say how this could be expanded further, though :(

The graphics look great, and overall, it’s quite a polished game for a jam—even the main menu looks super cool. Unfortunately, the "how to play" tutorial is so long that it causes a bit of confusion on its own, making it hard to quickly get a grip on the rules. Also, binding "Ctrl" to pause alongside "W" for movement is a poor choice in a browser game; I accidentally closed the tab a few times! :D

The gameplay was simple but quite satisfying, and the same goes for the music. The take on the theme was pretty straightforward, so a small minus there for the lack of creativity.

If I were to improve anything, I would simplify the rules a bit. There are a lot of introduced systems that are hard for a player to absorb—exceptionally complicated rules and a top bar for such a simple core gameplay loop.

That's a very cool concept for a game, and I definitely enjoyed the vibe and the ambient background music. It also fits the jam theme really well. Graphically, it looks cool and consistent.

On the downside, I didn't quite understand how I was winning or losing missions. Sometimes I clicked the mouse, sometimes I didn't, and I wasn't sure what effect my actions had on the success of a given mission.

So to sum up, a big plus for the graphics and music. A minus for the explanation of the gameplay rules :)

Woah. Thank you for such c comprehensive review! I will try my best with next jam.

Thank you!

Thank you. To be honest I've tried few jams before and I always stuck at theme and overscope. So this time I've tried to just finish game without overthinking. So theme is loosely adapted. Nothing fancy :)

Suggestion for adding 4th option.

"Accounts that are younger than 30 days must use rating queue"

Hej. First of all, thank you for asking! <3

Unfortunately, I was making this game in Godot 4.0, which is in alpha state right now. On day 7 when I was trying to export the game, I discovered a bug. That bug prevents me from exporting game to HTML or even Windows .exe.

So the game is done but I just couldn't submit it to jam :(

Maybe In the near future when and if they fix that bug I will upload it to my itch :)

Soooo... I can't export my game :)

I was using Godot 4.0 that is in alpha stage (yea I know, right...? :P) and for some reason I can't export game to HTML also when I try to export to exe it does not work (it just open and closes 1 sec after). Does anyone use Godot 4.0 and have any idea how to fix it?

A littlebit of an update on my game. I managed to do most of the basic systems (portrait is temporary from some artist online I will change it for my own art soon).

So, most mechanics works fine. ID have random generation on almost everything, from name, to adress, to serial number etc. Similar for money.

Now I need to polish graphics and I will probably try to add something more to make game more engaging. Right now it is really simple and not so much fun :P Oh well, first 7 days jam ever.

That's pretty neat idea and probably easy to implement. I will probably try to add it!

I am doing simple "Papers, please" style game where you play as cashier and need to find IDs and money that are fake (not real). Still heavy work in progress.
