Very interesting game concept (especially the start/tutorial screen)! The only problem I encountered was the fact that the sheep almost never escaped their pens, and I didn't have to do much. I'd really like it if you added some kind of score tracker or a consequence for leaving the sheep out of their pens for a long time (a wolf that can eat them, for example). Nevertheless, a great game! Good job!

Developer

Hey thanks for playing. Yesss the balancing was a big oversight on my part at the last minute. There is a score tracker, but it appears only after the timer has ended (and frankly theres a bug in there too lol). But thank you so much for the feedback and playing!

Cool game.

Got stuck on the tutorial for a bit, but managed to figure out the "game" had already started.

Developer

Glad you managed to wrangle that one in. They tend to be tricky. Thank you for playing!

I love the art and the tutorial main screen was a good touch! My sheep became very troublesome at one point. The pink one got stuck in the forest in the upper left and at some point the light blue one would not follow me no matter what I did.
Great job overall!

thank you so much for playing glad you enjoyed! Sorry for the troublesome sheep. They are more cooperative sometimes than others (a bug or too here and there). I think i know what to do to fix that actually. Thanks a ton for playing!

Amazing art, gameplay was a bit confusing, overall good work!

Developer(+1)

Hellooooo, thank you so much for playing. Sorry you found it a bit confusing. The main menu was supposed to teach a bit, but we definitely wanted to had more indicators and things like that. Thank you tons for playing though!

a little bit confused at first but nice gameplay overall, CUTE ART

Developer(+1)

Thank youuuu, a deeper tutorial or something of the sorts is on our to do list. Glad you enjoyed the art. Our artists went crazy. Thank you for playing!

So cute! I loved the main character's run animation! The first menu honestly confused me quite a bit, but once I figured it out I enjoyed running around and collecting my sheep!

Developer(+1)

Well I’m glad the main menu helped explain things a bit. I know it can be quite a confusing game. We definitely wanted to add more explanations and things like that. Thank you tons for playing!

This is very cute. It reminds me a bit of the sheep game in Wii party!

Developer(+2)

hahaha, I haven’t heard that name in years. Honored to be compared to such a game. Thank you tons and tons for playing!!

Love the concept of the game. It was just a little annoying finding the right place to put the sheep, a mini map would've helped a lot.

Yeah, I got kind of lost and felt like I wasn't checking a specific pen.

I think if there was a minimap, even just a gray square in the corner with dots to represent the player and sheep pens.

Thanks for playing! Yeah a minimap would be good [one was actually proposed during development, but we didn't end up having the time]

Developer(+2)

Hey thanks for playing! Yeah, we were originally going for a kind of lost in the woods vibes, but it seemed to come across as confusing to many ppl. We will definitely look into adding a minimap in the future. Thank you again, good luck in the jam.

for some reason, the sheep for me never escaped? i might have gotten really lucky, maybe it was because the check to escape happened with the same probability on each frame and i ran it at a lower framerate due to it being a web build, so there were less chances for the sheep to escape?

Hmm, odd

I'm pretty sure the way it works is they have to be off screen[ish] for some time before they break out on their own

Thanks for playing though!

[also, haven't played it yet but I watched one of our group members play your game and it was gorgeous!]

Same sort of thing happened for me, but only the purple sheep ever escaped, and the blue one I had to use the bell on three times in row, it wouldn't even wait for me to get off screen before he became ornery again. The rest of the sheep did nothing.

Developer(+1)

Hey! So yeah, the sheep escape when the player has spent  sufficient time away from the pens. In the heat of the moment and not wanting it to be too difficult, with like 5 mins pre-deadline, I cranked up the time the player has to spend away for a sheep to just naturally escape without being let out by another. It was a large oversight looking back at it but another lesson learned perhaps. Thank you so much for playing! Best of luck!

Submitted(+2)

that probably was the case, i spent the entire game running in a circle cycling through each pen, so that might have been what caused it.

Developer(+1)

hahaha I mean it’s technically the optimal strategy lol. It’ll be changed in the future though. Thanks again for playing! (Also anyone reading this should check out this guys game, it’s elite)
