The best ST scenario i ever read. One of the best use of space in the jam. Looks like a lot of fun at the table, and i'm positively sure i could run it right now.  A strong contender for the dubious prize of my favourite submisison

A whole ton of writing crammed into every available space, but very well done nonetheless. The map is good, and the colors are great! It probably could use some light grammatical editing, but I don’t think even the licensed Trek TTRPG has ever Trekked this hard lol. I hope those crazy kids find love even after all this. Very good job!

The graphic design and layout is slick, and the art is fantastic. The adventure packs a whole lot of fun into four pages. Really well done.

The art is very beautiful, well done, and evocative of the adventure. As others have said, I struggled a little bit with the text; I think this is mostly the letter "a" for me at least with this typeface. It's fine when a closer up but hard to parse. I also would recommend when expanding this to consider the following feedback:

  • It wasn't clear to me from the outset that Keeka was a renliska and that's why the planet would take their mindwipe as a declaration of war
  • The heading hierarchy visually is a little confusing. The colored bars make me think that this is a higher level at first glance than the large orange text.
  • The keying confused me as well with the numbering on the map and area 2 being more complex and elaborate with its subareas. It maybe would have made it easier to navigate if this larger subarea were presented first or last. Not sure! I think it was confusing because 1 appeared to have sub areas like 1.1 and 1.2 but they were not present on the map.

I think the use of landmark, hidden, secret was a nice way of organizing the bullets. The ideas and themes here are excellent, and once I was able to understand everything holistically, I think it works quite well as is, just some organizational notes up top. Some of the other feedback regarding how well this would work with Cairn versus using a different system I think makes sense. Would be super cool to see some custom backgrounds for space fleet characters in an expanded version!

I really love the writing and theme on this one; the maps look good, and the cover art is really evocative. It goes a long way toward selling the premise.

I wish the text had more breathing room, like others have said it can be a bit wall-of-texty, but I can't imagine what you could have cut and kept the high level of worldbuilding and vibe-establishing that you've got here.

I also think the adventure would benefit from a list of premade characters, or some tips on making traditional Cairn characters into Spacefleet crew on theme--it was hard for me to imagine running this with Cairn when there is so much implied worldbuilding in the Cairn character creation.

Classic pulp sci-fi if I've ever read it! 100% hits the theme and feel of what the jam is about. Whole lot of punch in these 4 pages.

Now this is how you write a short description/subheading! It tells me everything I need to know to get interested in having a closer look.

Really nicely put together module. Cool world building and well constructed keys. I love the hand drawn maps too!

Great cover, and so much gameable stuff in a very small space. I found the font difficult to parse, but the information design is good. Great work!

This one is a super peculiar entry: a sci-fi adventure screaming Star Trek out loud made using cairn as its system is something new to me. I really liked both the cover, the visual design and the illustrations you made for this module. The only cons I feel to point out is I find the font a little hard to read from a screen (I haven't tried to print it yet) as it gives me a compact wall of text impression, leading me to go back and forth to follow a sentence. It may be just me, but I think with this much and tiny text a serif font would have been more readable.

I also wanted to let you know there is a correction needed in Page 2

Rodenberry Waves prevent almost always prevents interstallar comms.

Anyway, this is one of my favorite as for visual design and an overall strong submission, great job!

Thank you!

RE: The needed correction

It should read "Rodenberry Waves almost always prevent interstellar comms," the implication being that the simple SOS just barely got through out of sheer chance.

The only cons I feel to point out is I find the font a little hard to read from a screen

When I release the full version of this (after my Cairn-inspired Trek-like rules are out) I'm definitely going larger on the font size, and more varied on font type. The current type is compressed 9 point futura iirc, so I'm not surprised folks are having trouble parsing it.

This sets out to do something really specific and completely nails it, which is awesome.

I love the cover and the maps and the art, color scheme, etc. But (for me) the text was hard to read, had to go back several times just to figure it out. That being said (barring the typos, which I can easily forgive), it is excellent overall. You have a clear, distinct voice and vision for this project and it made me want to play a Star Tr-esque adventure, which if you knew me, would be quite the feat. Well done.

Thanks for checking it out!

Regarding the text: What was hard to read? Was it the font? A style thing? This is going to be turned into a starter adventure for my own bespoke Trek-like system, and it would be great to have that feedback for that version.

It was the font, for me. Just something to consider, going forward. When you have a super condensed font like that in a large wall of text, can be difficult for some. I understand well trying to get everything to fit. Just something to consider in the future.

Oh yeah, I'm absolutely planning on using a larger font size for non-Jam stuff. The current size was mostly a concession to this being a jam entry.
Thank you!
