Gotta go fast! The game is built around high-octane high-speed racing - set thrusters to max!
Tooling
All the game logic and collision is happening on a 2D plane which is then projected into 3D space :)

Really impressive for this jam and resolution! I found the game quite tough, mainly because the screen patterns can get pretty disorienting, like that spiral approaching from a distance, I crashed into it every single time. Congrats on finishing the project!
I really liked it, however the striped ground can make it hard to look at, especially in the distance. Maybe you could, the further away the ground is from the player, make the ground darker and/or reduce the contrast of the stripes.
Tried with QUICK RACE, GRAND PRIX - GAMMA and ALPHA. on CANOPY AND CONCRETE

Great idea overall, and it looks pretty polished. A worthy submission.
Great idea, but the game suffers from the same problems as my game XD—the concept would work much better at a higher resolution. I can’t see anything in front of me at all, and there are several reasons for this caused by the low resolution:
1. In every frame, almost every pixel changes color, so it’s incredibly hard to keep up with what’s happening
2. With the green background, it’s impossible to tell what’s just the background and what’s the acceleration track. (The same goes for the blue one.
Really amazing entry. Before I gush over it though: one thing stopped me from enjoying it to it's max potential. The colored stripes on the ground- their colors are so different that in the far distance it gives this trippy pixel-grain effect that keeps shifting around. what's worse is that it makes objects difficult to recognize. If you wanted to quick-fix it, probably just change the colors to be more similar. or palette swap/tile swap those distant tiles to be more similar in color.
Now that that's out of the way, I have to say, this game throttles me back to my childhood. The one that I didn't have, actually, where my parents let me play video games for hours after dark on my cool, childhood game console. I love the music, and the colors. They mix together with the in-game assets sweetly, like apples and caramel. Overall, it makes for a really compelling experience, akin to a micro console racing game. Even the concept of looping is somewhat ingenious, both technically, and in execution.
I wish that there were more levels! Good luck in the jam.
