Play game
Chipko's itch.io pageArtistic Statement / Use of Theme
The game encourages to actively try to solve and raise voices together for the environment. The inspiration behind the game was the Chipko movement of Uttarakhand.
Development Summary
I originally planned a lot of things for the game, but due to many events in personal life, I wrapped it in a single weekend. The hardest thing to cut was the first phase where we recruit villagers and then use them in main game loop.
(optional) Release Plan
I would still consider it a mvp and a lot of content is needed to be added to the game first.
(optional) Further Development Plan
I would incorporate other villagers as the active part of the main game loop.

This was fun! Polished and bite-sized. I would appreciate maybe a bit more tuning on the guard speed - or, maybe I am just mechanically challenged!? They seem fast to me, though. Regardless, I enjoyed my time, once I got a handle on the controls and my objective. Thanks for making!
Such a cute little game! It was pretty challenging but i wouldnt say its over challenging when you get the hang of it. I think the gameplay is rlly simple and engaging. I did spend a while tryna win XD but i think you have so much potential to expand the game if you wanted to!
Overall enjoyable! The gameplay is smooth and straightforward, but it took me some time to learn how to stop the woodcutters, because when I collided with them the guards attacked at the same time, so I thought the woodcutters could also kill me . Short text instructions on how to play the game would be helpful. The art and animation are very nice.
I have no idea how to play this game there's no tutorial at all
Sorry was in a rush so couldn't make one. You have to survive till countdown become zero, you can stop woodcutters by touching them and stunning them, avoid the guards and don't allow them to cut all trees.
That’s really hard. I couldn’t get all three of them stunned. Not sure what even happens when you get all three of the stunned I assume you win. At first I thought it was you can’t win, not sure if intentional, but it conveyed the feeling of you can just delay them, can’t stop them. At least you are not killing them :D
I guess the game should have been a little bit easier. There is an ending, you have to stop them from cutting all the trees till the counter at tops become 0. Could have been more balanced with more playtesting. Developer is not usually a good tester for checking actual difficulty:)
An incredibly short yet enjoyable experience. The clean art and sound design keep help with the overall charm of the game, and I can only imagine how much this game can expand upon its existing mechanics. It seems that a lot of gameplay elements had to be cut for time, but I hope that doesn't discourage you from continuing to build off of what you have. This is a very well-made proof of concept, and I hope you continue it in the future.
