If you truly like the concept, i rlly think u should go ahead with it. I think its one of those moments where the game just wasnt meant for THIS game jam. Don't let the comments ab this game jam get to u ab the concept. I think they seem alot more "hateful" when you look at them as normal comments but really its just judging based on the criteria for this one.  All the best on ur future projects and if you choose to complete this one!

Such a unique game and i love the concept. The atmosphere reminds me a bit of slime rancher which is also a game i loved. I think the intro is genuinely so good and a great way to introduce the game!! i appreciate structured everything is and it rlly was impactful with the way u set the game up. Just a great experience overall!!

I dont think we had uploaded any files to play, the ones we had were not really polished in any way. We are planning to continue and release a playable version though.

Props to you for solo dev-ing this. Like seriously i didnt even realise until i read the desc. After the first minute i kinda understood it. But i think its a very interesting concept on its own and i can see it being a very cool game. I will say i think it couldve played better with a better Ui and maybe a more coherent introduction to the mechanics? And also making the objectives a little more clear at the start to guide the player at the start like a tutorial. But i think for the time you had and the constraints you did great! Are you planning to develop the game further?

Omg probably my favourite game by far. I loved how you guys introduced the credits and the call to action was rlly neat and impactful. The art is so simple and cute too and i think you guys did a great job overall and  the game mechanic of planting a seed and growing it to help u in the environment is soooo creative! . My only complaints are i found the pressing space to jump instead of W a little weird, but i managed to get used to it and i love the art but if you guys are interested in improving, i feel like the plants u grow could do with a bit more contrast (though i get why it wasnt proirity cuz the player activily grows it so they already know where it is, but it might be smth just to keep in mind). Still, Good Job!!

Such a cute little game! It was pretty challenging but i wouldnt say its over challenging when you get the hang of it. I think the gameplay is rlly simple and engaging. I did spend a while tryna win XD but i think you have so much potential to expand the game if you wanted to!

Sounds like a really fun game idea! Immediately recognised Wall-E, just if he actually planted plants and helped the place he was in. I love the simple platformer mechanics for smth like this too, it would really highlight the impact!

Really fun concept! I love the idea of presenting the player a problem that they actually have to solve with critical thinking! I think the aesthetic is really cool too! One thing you guys could consider is, in terms of plants types and biodiversity, try to pick a country/ place irl (or multiple) that you're basing your setting off of (even if the country itself has many different city environments) and try to see what would be considered an "invasive species" in those areas/ environment types. Could give an extra challenge to player!

Thamks you for your nice words!  We decided that for the sake of the climate jam that we lean to more scripted events/ outcomes for simplicity and that the story is actually something continously happening in the background rather than something you stop your gameplay to focus on (aside from the in-between day cutscenes). We wanted to make it feel real in some way, make the player feel like theyre helpless in terms of how the story goes and the only thing they arw in control of is the core gameplay loop :)

It is based on real life examples but we chose to only take reference rather than completely base it on the place because of the sensitive themes of the endings and one of the mechanics that we ended up slightly changing for the sake of project scope. The time period is most likely in this time period, but because of the lack of resources, they only have older models. Thanks for your kind words!

i think the idea of playing in a world very affcted by climate change is a good idea, im just concerned about the impact. But its an easy fix if you manage to sprinkle in some backstory or something of the "old world" and maybe the lead causes of how they got there? Maybe a more defined CTA

Interested to see how you guys integrate the climate impact into the puzzle design!
