The art, music and cinematic entry were beautiful and I love the idea of tracing pictures in the stars. That's cool it's based off something you did as a kid. However, I had the hardest time trying to find where the pictures were and it felt more like I was guessing randomly than using logic. I would suggest, one, showing an example before the first move, so the player has an idea how close the shapes are supposed to look to the object. And two, adding a hint option that will show the player one of the stars in the shape if they are stuck on what section of the sky to focus on.

Glad to hear you liked the visuals and about the gameplay, i didnt expected that to be that hard so i will surely work upon that. Thankyou for playing. :)

You'll probably not be surprised at all, when I tell you I like your take on the theme :D

I love how we essentially had the same idea, and spun it in different ways! I guess looking at the stars with a close person stays with you :)

Our approach to audio was also similar- calm background and "sparkly" star sound.

As for the graphics- loved it! Only think I'd add is maybe a small animation for when you find a constellation- like one of the boys pointing up.

As for the gameplay- I'd only add one thing. Some kind of hint mode? Like if you spend a long time without finding the constellation, the other guy could mark one of the stars for you.

Over all- another great submission! Keep it up!

Developer

Thankyou for playing! And i guess your game's title perfectly fits to my game. :D

The game is pretty straightforward. The visuals are stunning! And 90 hours spend making this? Just wow!! It takes some time understanding the constellations but I guess guiding the players might as well take away the fun? This has potential for a full game. Please continue working on it :)

Developer

Yes i will definitely continue its development. Thankyou for playing. :)

Man the art is beautifully made, for real. I think this is one of my favourites from this jam because it's so simple but so polished and neat. I agree that it is a bit too hard tho 😅 It maybe would be easier having some hints, like showing one of the stars in the target constellation or smth

Very cozy, loved this entry. Great work!

Developer

Half of my dev time went into designing the visuals, so I guess that paid off. Glad to hear you loved the visuals. And I agree about puzzles, i didn't expected them to be that hard, so I will do some redesign or add some hints after the jam ends.

The art style and the music are wonderful , very well done! The game feels really good to play, but it lacks some hints. I spent so much time trying to find the Moon, but I couldn’t find it 😅.

Maybe the drawing in the top-right corner could also show the direction or orientation of the constellation in the sky. That would make it easier to know where to look.

Other than that, the game feels really good to play. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Agreed! I should have either designed the constellation a bit easier to find or should have provide some hints. Will definetly do that after the jam ends. But if just focus on shape whil selecting the star you will eventually find it because there is only one formation exists in the whole stars. I will give you the solution of the first, maybe then you could find others as well.

Ahh, now I see it, haha! I tried everything, hhh. Thanks for the help!

Now i have added the gameplay video on game page. Now you can check it to see the solution in case can't find the others. :)

🌌✨ YOOO, THIS GAME LOOKS REALLY GOOD!

The visuals and effects are honestly beautiful, and I really like the cozy idea of two friends sitting together and finding shapes in the stars. It fits the STARGAZING theme really naturally too. ⭐

I did get stuck on the very first moon constellation though 😂 I spent quite a while trying different stars and couldn't figure it out. I think adding a small hint after a few failed attempts, or showing one starting star, would make the experience much more convenient without taking away from the puzzle.

Other than that, really nice game and great work! The atmosphere, visuals and concept all come together really well.

🏆 TOP RATING FROM ME!

And if you have some free time, PLEASE play my game too and leave me a review! 🙏❤️ I'd really love to hear what you think.

GG and good luck with the jam! 🌠

It’s a good looking game and the music is evocative, but… I cannot find the moon. And I’ve tried a lot of stars. I think two things would improve the game:

  1. A connecting line between the various stars, so you can better visualize the constellation
  2. A hint (like the first star) after a few failed attempts

Also, the sound of selecting/deselecting stars becomes annoying after a while, I would have put a system to disable it.

Developer

Yeah.. you are right, I should have implemented a way to deselect all the selected stars at once. Will do it after jam ends. Regarding gameplay, once all the stars of the constellation is selected, then the shape will get revealed with connecting lines but to find the solution you need to visualize yourself. It's not that hard if you try to follow the flow of shape while selecting the stars.

I’ve tried a lot of “curve paths”… also, the first explanation suggests that the path can be rotated… a hint? one of the “extreme point” stars? =D

Honestly the best game I've seen so far here, I took a while to get past the moon connection though but your visuals are sick
