This was really cool! I loved the colors and the creative use of the resolution with the gradients, gave it both a futuristic and arcady feel. The special attack shockwave was also very satisfying!

Great simple and addicting game. The visual style with the malleable dot grid and the geometric enemies is very effective. Lots of polish here in the pacing and balance, I had fun!

Very solid and fun game. I love the transitions and art. I appreciate how the game stops when you come back after getting destroyed, giving you a chance to decompress and gather yourself. Very well done!

Very cool game! I didn't even really notice that it's only 64x64 as it is very engaging from the start and the graphics are so fluid. Gameplay is clear from the start too. Great job!

Had a lot of fun! The difficulty felt really well tuned.

Solid and challenging game. Music and sound effects are great.

Great game! The mechanics are simple yet very enjoyable. Congratulations on finishing the project!
P.S.: I noticed that occasionally enemies spawned out of bounds, showing about 1–2px outside the screen area.

Developer

Thanks so much I'm glad you enjoyed it! I hadn't ever seen the enemies do that on my end, but it's definitely possible. Certain enemies' spawn animations intentionally begin outside the boundaries to alert you, yet not take up playable space.  Thanks again!

Thanks that means a lot, and extra thanks to my home boy Scott for the fresh track and SFX!!!

Good entry that delivers exactly what it promises—tons of fun! It’s a very solid demake of the original concept from Geometry Wars. I would’ve loved that classic background distortion effect, but at this resolution, that would’ve been an absolute miracle! A touch more speed could have been cool, though I get that at this scale you risk losing control of the ship pretty quickly. Fantastic work!

Developer

Thanks so much it was a blast to make. Maybe it's too subtle, but I actually spent a lot of time on the background effect to try and replicate it the best I could within reason. When you shoot the primary weapon, the background pixels actually react to your projectiles. Upgrading your gun by collecting 25+ gems affects them even more.  And when you use your bomb or die, you create a blast that sends a pulse out and sweeps the map. Each of the blue pixels in the background are actually individual objects that reacts to your attacks and death. Such a lowrez game allowed it to work and not bog it down at all. 784 of them blue pixels haha

I will replay and put more attention to the effect, i missed it fully (subtle and the focus is on surviving) but if you made it work big kudos!

A nice, colourful abstract shooter.

The controls are tricky, especially on a laptop, and it is unfortunately impossible to play on mobile. If the mouse pointer moves out of the play area and then you click to fire, keyboard focus moves away from the game and you can no longer control the ship. The game should capture the mouse or have an option to go into fullscreen mode to avoid this.

Developer

Thanks so much for playing! Yeah it certainly wasn't designed for mobile, or track pads for that matter. I was hoping to get controller support, but I didn't have the time to properly implement it. Fullscreen would have been a good cheap option for that, thanks for the feedback!

I thought I was so good, then I discovered the special weapon… sorry I forgot to take a screenshot. gg!

No worries thanks so much for playing! :D
