Are most gamers and game devs loners?

I  am a   loner.   Just curious  if that's the norm in these spaces.

I  think gaming creates a fun space for socially awkward people to feel safe.

I don’t have a large social circle but that’s by choice. I don’t like socializing. But I wouldn’t say I’m lonely.

That's an outdated trope. There is all sorts of video games and all sorts of people play them.

If a loner wants to avoid people, playing video games can be played so. But they can also be played to chat and talk with people.

I mean, even book worms have book clubs.

I won't say so. On discord and gamejolt, I saw some gamers posting their gameplay videos and chatting with others. Added with Facebook, gamedevs chats with other devs about many topics.

IOW gamers and devs do socialize.

I'm a math and science nerd + gamer enthusiast + hobbist game dev, and yes also a loner lol
