Absolute chaos, this was the most fun I've had. I didn't manage to beat mr. Beatme from Singapore, their name will not be fulfilled :(
5 star
Cute game, I'm curious how you got the leaderboard working and hosted.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it 😄
The leaderboard is handled by a small serverless worker. Scores get submitted to it, it stores them, and then serves the sorted list back to the game. No traditional backend server needed — just a lightweight function that does the job.
This might be the game that truly fits the Jams theme best; it's very fun to make combos.
Thank you very much for playing and your support! Good luck for the Jam mate!
Nice game! I like how it has one mechanic and it is charge! Played it during development phase and now, it became better! Good job!
Hey thanks for playing and coming back !
I had fun playing this. The charge up mechanism works really well. I liked the visuals too. Good job.
Thanks for playing ! Goodluck mate !
Same to you mate!
very fun and simple game, i loved the core mechanics, it works very well. great use of the theme. i love the overcharge mechanic also. this is just a super fun game, awesome job!
Thanks a lot, mate! Really happy you had fun, the overcharge is the heart of it. Hold the risk and release at the right moment. Means a lot coming from you. This jam was great to build for!
It was a very simple game with rules that were easy to understand!
thanks for playing mate !
Fun little game! In some ways I think it'd be nice to have a warning of some kind when one of the enemies were going to appear as right now my main times dying was when I charged to an edge to hit an enemy and then another one spawned right beside before I was able to move away. That being said I had a good time and would play again. Good work!
That’s what living on the edge means, lol. Thanks for playing!
Extreeeeemely fun, I can feel myself coming back to play this for sure. Everything is on point- audio, visuals, game feel, mechanics, the rewarding feeling popping them, challenge etc 5/5 currently my high score is 4455, will be back to beat that
wow feel so nice reading your words, bakko keeps improving with more arcade challenge, thanks for playing and thanks for the nice words !
this is a good one! great use of the theme!
thanks for playing mate !
I reached the score of 5586 for now, a really tense scoring game, nice work!
fear to be catched by the ennemi or to explode by charging too much power, you feel it and thats the effect i wanted to give, thanks for playing mate
Really clean take on "hold to charge" — I built a charge-blast game for this same jam, so I came in curious how someone else read the theme, and the dash-through-the-swarm loop feels great. The "what you are looking at" primer up front is a smart touch: swarm/gold/volatile/sentinel/star-spark all read as distinct roles before the timer even starts. The weekly leaderboard is doing real work as a return hook too (lordricker's 10797 is intimidating). My honest first-timer note: my early runs scored almost nothing because I was dashing on instinct into empty space — the depth is clearly in timing a near-max charge through a cluster for the chain, but that "aha" is a little hidden on run one. A subtle in-run cue when a dash actually connects with 2+ enemies (a bigger pop / combo flash) might surface the skill ceiling faster. Fun, tight, and very on-theme. Nice work!
thanks for playing and your feedback ! its all i need from you guys here that mean a lot for me. actually i built this game before even knowing the charge theme, its a pure coincidence and luck that i prefer to win in the lottery haha
Pretty cool, really makes me want to add a leader board to my game but not sure its ready for that.
I did get the high score (5000 something) at the time of playing, Im not sure if its intended but my best strategy was to click rapidly to position myself and only charge shot the guys that require the charge. Was confused the first two times I timed out after 60 seconds, thought i died lol. Might add a victory or death message maybe.
its an interesting concept forcing a player to get as many points in 60 seconds as you can. my suggestion would be to lean into that, like some sort of in depth combo system with a high skill ceiling.
Ok well i decided to try again since i made the suggestion about combo system and figured i should probably actually figure out the current one where you want to hold charge up to right before you pop for best score. I got 10797
wow thanks for playing and now its time to beat 10797 haha
oh i also forgot to mention i played on pc and going fullscreen lets you see much further not sure if that was intended
Fun game . Next update should be a upgrade button to hold longer.
Thanks for your feedback and playing !
Charming and fun!
thanks for playing
I got around 1700 after my first couple tries, then I saw someone got 3000??? I’m gonna try to break that score now!
haha that's greatcoltini's 3089, the bar is set. tip: hold near max charge and dash through the big one when it's inside a crowd, the chain pays stupid numbers. go get him
Fun short arcade loop. I liked the immediate feedback when clicking/charging and seeing the score jump quickly.
One small thing: at first I was mostly clicking around and watching the score go up, so I think a clearer first-run cue about the best timing for hold/release could make the strategy click faster.
good catch, and you're the second person to circle the same thing differently, the arcade version is getting a first-run cue for the hold/release rhythm. jam build stays frozen as submitted but glad the loop underneath clicked
Very clever “60-second game” once you get the hang of it; scored over 2300.. :)
2300 is a proper score, that's deep in the swarm territory. glad the 60 seconds clicked once it clicked. cue club 2 got me nostalgic btw, been years since I potted anything
