underwater adventures are difficult, because it's difficult to make them unique (as opposed to just pop "under the sea" on a normal scenario). you made it! That's under the sea and feels like tht. It's a solid, unexpected adventure, and the players will love it, i'm sure. Very wordy, but with a reasons

Despite the large file size, I love this adventure, I think it has the vibe to be a deep water horror similar to Subnautica. It reminds me of leviathan-class lifeforms in that game.

I also like the Temujin's state mechanic, where in different state, each Temujin's body parts have its own different mechanic. Love it.

Thank you!

The art inside was unexpectedly colorful, downright charming, and (I assume) the most anatomically correct diagram of a mythical sea serpent’s bowels ever put to page- so congrats on that singular achievement! lol

Also, I genuinely hope that people aren’t being deterred from reviewing this just by the comically large file size. It’s a fun read, guys!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I did think about the anatomy quite a lot, ha

Lovely(!) art and a crawl inside a giant creature without the details some others dwell on. A big puzzle to get a BIG price. Would do well in a campaign to gather giant allies, too.

I’d perhaps add a wise ranger in the village hinting on the mechanics, so it isn’t as much deadly try and error (that’s my D&D brain talking again).

The PDF was really trying not to get printed. I was able to compress it to 1/100 of its size to get it on paper.

Developer

Thank you! Yes that's a good idea re the villager. Sorry about the PDF! 😬

(The huge file size is probably suppressing how many ratings this gets.)

I like the Sleep-Rage-Calm changes to each encounter area. Another module did something similar with high and low tides which could be swapped between adjacent Points during the moving-around-the-map phase.

This is a linear module and it embraces it! I loved the steady beat of 'new area, new creatures, same worrisome dragon-calming-process-to-try' . I think there is a lot for a party to get themselves tripped up over within these constraints, and at 4 pages, this jam is absolutely about how one loves the constraints.

I LOVE THE ART.  THE COVER IS WILD.

Thanks so much! Yeah I'm kicking myself a bit over not working out how to compress the file properly, I did not realise quite how excessive it was...

Following a really stellar piece of cover art the contents of your submission have some hierarchy of information issues that would be easily rectified for a 1.1. The backstory runs directly into GM advice, then into magic item description, and a header in between these or some other kind of formatting break would be super helpful.

The profile and situation with Temujin is great, as well as the rare (if not unique) take on locale that is the interior of a great beast which... I mean you did a great job it gives me the willies just reading Gills and Mouth let alone imagining myself there.

Developer

Thank you! Yes that's a good point about formatting of the beginning section, I went round in circles with the layout a bit and the three sections ended up kind of lumped together

Worth the wait for this to download, that cover is banging and great idea doubling it as a map. Cool idea having the three states of the dragon affect the dungeon, great stuff!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I can't take any credit for the idea of making the map the cover as I believe last year's judge's pick did that, it is genius though!

Hi! Wanted to say that I like the artworks for this adventure, but I suggest you to compress the file as 375MB may make people stay away from downloading It

Also noticed this - not a huge deal for judging but something for Liminitch to fix up later.

Developer(+2)

Thanks, yeah this was not intentional! I messed up the PDF export last year as well (in a different way) and was told not to change anything until after the judging period, so will need to leave it for now I think, but will change it after.
