Simple and fun oldschool racing. Although not that simple — I can’t catch up with anyone yet, it seems I need to come up with a strategy in this game.

Fun little racer. I really like the minimalistic art style of the cars.
Is there anything I can do to not finish last in every race? I know my reflexes are not great, but I'd like to get at least one of those opponents!
And you receive an extra star from me for using MS Paint =)
Enjoyed your game. Congrats on your submission!
Thanks. Try going slow at the start and and focus on collecting the NOS tanks, don't think I put a limit on the amount of NOS you can carry. 2nd, the tank spawning is on a timer so try to get a feeling for the timing and slow down when you think they are going to spawn. Avoid the oil slicks which will make you slide and don't go off road which caps your speed at 1. There is a snowplow powerup which may help but it only spawns once per race.
This was a fun little racing game! I liked how there were obstacles to dodge and pickups to look out for. The AI was pretty good as well! Reminds me of an old-school arcade-style racing game. Nice job!
You know what they say? If you ain't first, you're last! My first game I got last and my last game I got first!
After three plays I'd say I've seen all the game has to offer, which is perfectly fine. A minigame of sorts. There didn't seem to be much challenge or many interesting decisions to be made. I kinda just held spacebar, then dodged oil or tried to get pickups if I felt like it or could react in time. Tweaking the tension between using the speed boost and your engine heat could be an interesting iteration. Something dramatic like, if your engine overheats you immediately blow up, game over bud.
The speed boost mechanic being one of the major fun levers to pull on, some caution could be had around iterating on it. If you make it a more rare resource, for example, then it might blast you off to space when you do have or use some of it!
Had a bit of fun playing and a bit more analyzing the design. Keep up the great work!
