I thought it gave more "ambiance" that way, and since you could indeed spam 1 if it felt too slow, I felt it was fine. Another idea I had was giving it a fade-in and fade-out effect to the whole text; that would've given it the ambiance I looked for and made it faster... But, I ran out of time.
