Such a cozy and chill game it gave me a sense of peace throughout the entire time I played it. The music, atmosphere, artstyle and color pallette and mechanics all blend well to give a very beautiful and peaceful atmosphere. I only got a little stressed after forgetting to return books but that's on me.

wow I love the idea behind this game! Just like in real life it turns out i do not have skill for returning books on time :|

I really liked the theme of reading and managing your late books (speaking of which...), but what if you made upgrades?

Upgrades and giving the player choice sounds like a great idea! I had thought about giving random bonuses to books you discover at the library too, maybe something for post-jam :)

Thanks for playing!

The game was cute; it made me nostalgic for visiting the library and trying to speedread books before the due date. I missed the point of checking out a heap of books at once when you only had 5 foci at a time and going to the library frequently had no downside. Maybe leveling it up was overlooked? Otherwise I'd suggest having a small transportation fee to get there or maybe someone else driving you there only once a week so you'd want to get extra books despite the focus limit. Great game!

Thanks for playing, and for the great feedback! I like those ideas, especially limiting how often/when you get to go to the library. Would want to think about how it fits in with a return policy (maybe the library is only open certain days for checking out), worth exploring for sure.

Was also thinking about increasing the amount of available focus as you level up, or introducing some kind of temporary bonus focus when you complete a book to further incentivize having lots of them at a time.

Thanks again :)

Aesthetic is incredible, prettiest jam game I've seen in a while. The books changing color depending on what you're actively reading was a great detail. Very relaxing game. I liked the ending waves.
