Use of the theme
“Out in the Open” : The player is in an instanced outdoor digital adventure with a virtual companion.
The optional themes:
“Stuck Together in a Place or Situation”: While you are stuck at home, The virtual companion is accompanying you via webcam and playing a multiplayer game with you. You are both stuck in this world until the challenge is completed.
“Spying”: Virtual companion's webcam is on the entire time, showing unfiltered raunchy bold behaviors.
“Replayability”: The game was designed with multiple choices, certain randomization of events, and various outcomes/dialogues.
AI generated content (If you used an AI)
The only AI use is the assistance with javascript code for making plugins for RPG Maker MZ to breakout of the default engine limits.
Assets used (If you used external or existing assets)
External assets were used from existing older IP games, sourced from a fan upload on a forum, but likely some ripped from Spriters Resource as well.
Additional notes
Features:
- Custom artwork and animations for virtual girl by me.
- Secret Starters unlockable from lost showcased 1997 rare beta event
As my second attempt at minijam, I poured even more sleepless nights and hard work into making this wild prototype happen! Bugs may exist, and it is not finished yet- I tried to get as close as I could. Thank you for playing, and feel free to comment what you liked and what you'd want to see next in this game- if I dont see any comments at the end of voting I may not continue further development of it.

Comments
I put a comment on your post and I saw you (or at least someone) replied to it, but I can't see the replies now, I think because you disabled comments. I'm still curious what you said.
The reply was
"Thank you for playing! Glad you liked the art! I encourage you to share what bugs you found in my devlog, just post a comment there: Gamegal Cumpanion - Devlog Jam Patch #1 - this can help a lot because there are too many combatants and types to fully review my self alone in between patching and filling out content in this crunch. "
Also note since then, 2 patches were made that added many bugfixes, balancing, and other things including what you and others have mentioned. More patches are still in the works as well to continue.
Alright, thanks!
I wasn't particularly engaged by it, but then I wasn't a fan of the Pokemon games and never played them, so I feel like maybe this just isn't aimed at me. I do like the cumpanion idea! Not quite sure how her flashing was meant to be an issue in a turn-based battle but not complaining, woud've liked to see more interactions with her as for most of it she was just kinda there. Is it spying if she's deliberately turned on her webcam? I didn't really get the "stuck" bit either as presumably either could just turn off the game... but that game was mostly outdoors, and she's somewhat out in the open herself, so seems themey enough for me. And making all that in a week must've been tough, but you did a great job! Very impressive.
I like this idea of dual screen, playing a game in the game with a friend. I had a gba, but no gba friends. More real than real life.
love this concept! i'll be coming back after one or two updates. it's a little janky as you obviously know, but i'm really into it!
Thank you! I've been working all night for the past 12 hours on massive bugfixes, balancing, and more content. So the next update should hopefully be much better. Coming very soon!
hope you're not overdoing it! i'm happy to wait for as long as it takes :)
Fat update #1 is live! Tonight I work on #2 - the wicked never rest so nor shall I
The girl is cute. I played for a while but there isn't a lot of appeal in what's basically a half-baked [GAME] port.
I find this comment really harsh. First, I intentionally hid the aspect of what game is inside throughout the entire development process, your comment kills the surprise, thanks. Second, you can't call it a port- I rebuilt everything myself, no code from the original game was used, and I had to use my own ingenuity to make this entire project work. I spent 12-16 hours a day all week on this just to get this backhanded comment calling it half baked. It was not submitted finished, and I put a ton of love and content into it, so its not 'half baked'. If its not your cup of tea fine, but how about next time giving constructive criticism instead of saying something insulting to another person's hard work.
