Cute little game. Once the objective is clear (go to the door, NOT to the leaf) it is actually quite cool!
It was actually really hard to play and navigate the little bug, but I love the concept and how beautifully simple it was made. Was able to pass only round 1 until I gave up though.
I understand the purpose of the gameplay from the comments but it’s really difficult to control and the bug keeps changing the controls repeatedly, it’s super hard to complete the levels. Would love to see the idea again but not on a grid like this but more like free movement and the bug desire just slightly nudge the direction off-course a little and not changing the whole orientation repeatedly like this.
Cool idea, but it did not seem to work. After eating the leaf the bug didn´t respond to any directional inputs anymore so I could not move to the goal. Still, the pixel art was cute :)
Thanks for playing! The comments made me realize that the mechanic wasn't very clear. The idea isn't to eat the leaves, but to use the little creature's desire to go after them to guide it to the door.
When he eats them all, he becomes disoriented, and the player can press Space to reset the level.
Thanks for the feedback!
I couldn't get past eating one leaf. The character would just always walk to the top right corner and changing directions didn't work. It didn't matter which direction I ate the leaf from.
Thanks for the feedback! I didn't make the game's core idea very clear, so I've tweaked the description a bit to address that.
I like the graphics, this looks so cute :D
For controls, feels counter intuitive when the left arrow/a doesn't move the character left. And sometimes eating leaves did nothing and sometimes I got stuck after eating one. Is it a bug or part of the gameplay? :)
Thanks for the feedback! The core mechanic wasn't very clear, I’ve tweaked the description a bit to make it clearer.
The idea is that the critter wants to go to the nearest leaf, so you need to alter its sense of direction to guide it to the door.
