I don't think I'm the right person to give feedback on this, I'm not really into rhythm or hard combat games so to be honest this game really frustrates me. I feel like the infamous game reviewer trying to get past the cuphead tutorial. Lol I think I also made the mistake of essentially throwing the player into a boss fight before properly teaching the mechanics and letting players acclimate to them. Of course some people love hard action games, so I can't say whether this would work for them or not. What I can confidently say is that there was clearly a ton of effort polishing the game!

The core is kinda addictive and resembles a mobile game i dont remember the game but it was a samurai 2d game, 5 stars for presentation

hey can u rate my game too, i am not even getting views on page idk why

I love the art and the absolute sadistic MF that is the boss. I couldn’t figure out the breath mechanics, probably died about 30 times before giving up. I love the core idea, though, just wish there were more visual hints when I’m doing something right, and how to deal some actual damage.

Amazing game with all things from art to sounds, please rate my game too

I love the art style great work! I couldnt get used to brethe in and out for 10 min I really tried a lot, my bad probably. Dodging and trying to breath is really hard I tried and enjoyed for a moment. Breath tutorial maybe should restart after my failure breaths. I couldnt breath on my first run but game pushed me in to boss fight even I didnt understand breathing. Great game

It is a criminal how underrated this game is. The artstyle is super cool and its theme (not the jam theme) is really unique in my opinion. I would love to see it expands into a full game one day

nice game. may feel a bit too complicated at first, but it gets good after you understand. also love the visuals and the menus

pretty damn good, tutorial is bad tho

Developer

Thank you.
I dont see how that "feedback" helps us to improve the tutorial.

its really confusing and hard to get past it and actually start playing, maybe add some indicators of what you are supposed to do and click, i saw many players struggle with it

Incredible theme and art, the game was too large resolution for my browser so I couldn't see the whole screen. Would love to see more from this project in the future.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! We're glad you liked it.
We faced some issues with the web resolution. We would recommend downloading the game, running it fullscreen or lowering your browser zoom. Our team is indeed looking forward for updates and a full release of Shinkokyuu.

I love the art style and the gameplay is fun too, but it was a bit too hard for me to finish :(

Developer

Thank you for the feedback!
Shinkokyu was indeed designed to be a hard game. Did you manage to beat it?

The art and music really caught my interest—even the language selection—but the game is way too hard; I spent ages just trying to get through the tutorial, not to mention the boss.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback!
Shinkokyuu was designed to be a challenging game that requires the player to keep calm and pay attention to what happens on the screen, letting the sound and the flower guide you. We'll try to make the game more balanced and acessible in the next updates!
