Nice level design, as others already pointed. I also liked the controls "twist" that aiming was made with mouse and not just into the direction of character movement. In the second level, in nexus, I accidentally clipped through wall on the far right and fell down (but that's on me for even trying to crash into this wall) :P I have my own nostalgic memories of other retro platformers from PSX/PS2 era, I had fun playing your game :) In contrast to one other commenter I would not add a minimap - I think orientation is part of the designed difficulty here, but won't argue :)
Awesome game and super ambitious! You managed to get so many things in like quality of life in pausing etc. The games style reminds me a bit of old Ratchet and Clank, very nostalgic.
I made it through the whole game - very thoughtful level design and nice variety of challenges. Well done pulling that together by yourself!
I would've appreciated a minimap or something, because the camera is so zoomed in on the character that it's very difficult to see where you are and recognize rooms you've previously been in.
Overall, a metroidvania is something very hard to make for a game jam, so don't sweat it. Keep it up!
