No rate for rate. Please.

We've seen rate for rate spamming ruin the scoring of jams in the past, and we'd like to see a fair and honest jam here.

It's alright to ask someone to play your game if you've played, rated, and gave feedback on their game. But blanket "rate for rate" callouts, can really mess with ratings, as people try to collect as many ratings as they can without playing/having their own game played.

If we find people posting "rate for rate" posts here in the community tab, they will be removed. And if we have too many posts like that, we may have to close to the community tab entirely.

If we find somebody spamming "play my game" or "rate my game" in comments on games in this jam, we will first issue them a warning, and then we may disqualify them if they continue to spam reviews. (Especially if they're posting comments at a speed, or with copy/paste messages, that suggests that they aren't playing the games that they're commenting on.)

i have a question what happens if no one rates a game?

Jam Host

I'm not entirely sure, but I assume it would automatically get all 0s in the different categories, and be in last place. 🤔

Do judges rate games that have low ratings? I hope so, because the Rate 4 Rate trend is almost impossible to stop. People find ways to ask for ratings that make it hard to call them out for it, if you know what I mean.

My game has already been rated, so I'm not worried about myself. But in the last game jam, there were a few low-rated games that definitely deserved much more recognition.

There are no judge ratings for this jam, it'll be left up to community voting.

We have however changed the wording of the post to reflect our new policy on this. So if you see people spamming the comment sections, please feel free to report them, and we'll look into it. 👍

Me watching a game that was made 2 years before the Game Jam and has nothing to do with the theme win: 🗿

Jam Host

We're slowly picking through the games and moderating them.

If a game like that landed in the top 10, they would just get banned before we give out the prizes. 😅

yea man ur so rude 4 deleting games,

(-4)

😒 You should put em back

Submitted(+1)

He doesn't delete them, he disqualifies them. They still exist on itch.io they just aren't in the jam

Wait, so the entirety of the voting consists of votes from other entrants? Theres no judging panel based on the highest rated etc?

Jam Host

Yes. For this weekend jam, it's all based on community votes.

We do the judge voting for the BIG jams that happen twice per year, that usually have prize money involved.

The dewgames.org question is a good one. I dont have a lot of ratings and i was wondering the same thing

Does anyone know what happened to my UNO game?

@GDevelop

You used Lovable.app to make your game, so I deleted the submission. It wasn’t legitimate to make a game with another engine and then wrap it inside a GDevelop game. https://img.itch.zone/aW1nLzI5NTAyMTExLnBuZw==/original/x7Peb6.png

oh alright, sorry

Do you know why "Doggy Island" is disqualified?

Jam Host (1 edit) (+2)

You published it in “Nov 13, 2025” that was not a game made during the jam period. You must read the rules. And stop asking the same question everywhere…

Wesley, wassup. Thx for the tutorials.

Jam Host

Which tutorials?

Submitted

I think they mean the tutorials on the gdevelop YT account?

Jam Host(+1)

Oh! I misread it. I thought "Thx" was "Fix". 😅

I thought they were trying to tell me there was an issue with one of the tutorials that needed to get fixed. lol.

You're welcome Colourless flame.

Submitted

wanna add in on thanking you for the yt tutorials lol. really appreciate it.

Jam Host (1 edit) (+1)

Well thank you for watching them.

Without people watching them, there wouldn't be any reason to make them. 👍

thank you SO MUCH!

Where did "Mower Monster" go? All my games have disappeared. They are gone, do you know if it is possible for me to put them back up,           "Mower Monster"  "Doggy Island"  "UNO"

Jam Host(+1)

Simply, NO.

“Mower Monster” — Published August 21, 2026, at 16:14 UTC, which means you published it 1 hour and 46 minutes before the event started, so it’s not a valid submission for this event.

“Doggy Island” — Published Nov 13, 2025, not between August 21 and 23, so it’s not a valid submission for this event.

“UNO” — You used Lovable.app to make your game, so I deleted the submission too. Making a game with another engine and wrapping it inside a GDevelop project is not allowed: https://img.itch.zone/aW1nLzI5NTAyMTExLnBuZw==/original/x7Peb6.png

For all these reasons, I should ban you from the event.

Submitted

Wait, how did they have three games? I thought you were only allowed one.

He probably submitted new applications after the disqualification of the old ones.

Is Vishwajeet Kumar Vaybhav rate for rating? I saw him in a lot of games tiping the same message for everyone, i dont wanna make the snich but he writed that a game was good when you couldnt even play It because It hadnt the gdgames link

Jam Host (1 edit) (+1)

Please don't think of it as snitching.

Most people who joined the jam want to be able to have a fun and fair experience, so helping us moderate the jam by reporting games/people that are breaking the rules, or making the jam experience worse, is helping us make the jam closer to what people signed up for.

Thank you.

(There is a "report" button under comments, and above games inside of their jam page, that actually goes straight to the moderators, and not to itch. So if you report it through that button, you can report it to us without needing to make a public post for it. 👍)

Ok thank you
