I coded without an engine with Claude Code. I know people give AI coding a bad rep but it's really good these days. I do have coding experience so I knew what I was prompting and it saved me hundreds of hours of coding and debugging. I also needed to make my own engine because of the novel way my game's rendering is done (using past light-cones with a delayed-time rendering system).

cool!

I don't see any problem with using AI for coding, as long as you treat it like the tool it is and understand its limitations. You still need to know the core theories and concepts of programming and actually learn. If you master that and combine it with AI, you become unstoppable!

The people criticizing AI today are just like those who criticized object-oriented programming or the first high-level languages back in the day. Those who didn't adapt got left behind, and I believe the same will happen to anyone who doesn't adapt to the AI era.
