You have to crouch once to go to the right => keep running right until you find an eye! Then once you have it, run back to the left and press shift until you reach the church. Inside there's a basket for the eye. Hope this helps!

Turn ur back to it and walk and when it starts to RUN(not walk) u need to time it and crouch and he will get past u. Then simply go right and there is the eye

Omg I finally got it! I'm being to think I was struggling so much because of my less then settler luck with getting backed into the corner of the first screen like a goof where the creature would stop right ontop of me.

That and honestly my laptop keys love to malfunction so I got stuck running in the wrong direction against my will a bunch. I had a uniquely difficult time. 

Anyway thanks for the help everyone, probably would have been running around much longer without them. (^^)

The item you need to grab is to the right of the chase at the start! You have to crouch and let the Sunhead go by and start heading right. Just keep crouching and going right every time the creature is positioned to your left, and you'll make it to the item. Once you get that, just sprint back left towards the church. Hope this helps!!
